I got matched with 4 people that i had blocked...

I played normal blinds with a 4 premade that hit on me ( i was playing supp) when match started to go badly. I just muted them and played my game. I blocked them after match. The problem comes when i queue again and i get matched with the same 4 premade, i had them all blocked so i couldn't see what roles were they calling. I couldn't dodge at risk of getting leaverbuster so i picked a champ based on what champions / summoner spells they picked... Then i got into the game and guess what? I picked GP thinking i was top but they made me go support and threatened to report me (AGAIN).

Why do you get matched with people that you block? Can Riot do something about this?

That's really unfortunate luck. :(

Blocking, however, doesn't work as well as you'd think. It's great at MMRs with thousands and thousands of players, but it leads to terrible situations in higher MMRs. OverWatch used it for a while, and the world's best Widowmaker found himself waiting for sometimes upwards of an hour for a game simply because so many other great players had blocked him because they didn't want to play against him.

Effectively, in smaller MMR communities (such a Diamond+), you can actually start to recognize names, and having the ability to block people would effectively let you pick your own team. That's TERRIBLE for a competitive ranking system.

They want to prevent strategic blocking of people. If blocked people would not be matched with you then you could block all the bad players you come across and indirectly sabotage the entire matchmaking to get winner-teams and climb.

Just mute them. Rito has a great report system... If you don't talk nothing happens. Just let them enjoy their false hope <3.

Blocking people mean that they can't talk to you or add you in their friend list . Blocking people don't stop them from playing with you .

Same thing with people you report.

I got matched with a heimerdinger one game that trash talked everyone on both teams, but focused his efforts on me when I told him to calm down. Second game I play, would you look at that he's on my team and starts trash talking me from champ select.

I didn't report this piece of shit because I wanted to play with him again.

They don't care about who you block, in fact you can't even block all the toxic players because you're limited to 1k blocked people.

I had this happen to me about 5 years ago.

lol, I know it's not 2018 yet, but it adds dramatic effect

I was playing as Jax, Someone I started the game with Next match I got into I picked Nasus, only to discover it was the same people who made my previous match a living hell. Slightly biased towards pre-mades even now for fear I get an unfortunate 4-man premade concoction of hell.

I'd suggest waiting after those kinds of games before jumping into the next one. It'll give you a chance to clear your head from the bad game and you'll be less likely to go back into the same queue as those players.

I've never had 4 but I've had 2 before. One remembered me and instantly flamed and the other I apparently still had muted, which I didn't know was a thing until that specific game.

Wow, what are the odds?

If it's Normals just dodge. There are NO penalties in dodging.

All that happens is a 5 minute time out for the first dodge that ticks down even if offline. Any dodges after that within 8 or 24 hours increase that timer to 10 and 15.

But it resets daily. Like I said, Leaverbuster is when you AFK in-game. Since it was Normals, you don't even get an LP penalty, just a 5 minute wait.

So yeah, definitely dodge in Normals if the lobby seems even the slightest bit toxic or troll-y.

How do you know when someone’s in a premade unless they’re all in the same club name? Is their even a way to tell?

One question: Since you had them blocked, how did they threaten to report you (again)? Blocked people are also muted as far as I know - well, I might be wrong about that. I don't block people too often (I think I might have 3 people on my block list atm after years of playing.)

Anyways, others have already told you that blocking does not prevent them from being in the same match (or even same team) as you in future, so I don't have to do that, right? :) Well, maybe I can clarify the Why part.

If person A could prevent player B from being in the same match as him by blocking him, everyone and their uncles would block every pro, challenger and master they know of, so they would not have to face them in the fields of justice. That would prevent those people from playing pretty much.
