Perm Banned...

I was banned tonight without recent warning ( its been months)? I don't play league very much anymore and yes I have had chat restrictions and a suspension long ago in the past but I had since changed my nature, then last night I encountered troll player who deliberately ruined the game for everyone by staying near base and using his laugh animation and... I lost my cool. I admit, I was in the wrong, I am not asking for forgiveness but rather a chance to redeem myself and play on the account I have had for over 4 years. Not really sure what else to say except :*(

I was under the impression that if you exhibit good behavior for extended periods of time you can "make your way down the punishment ladder" as explained here: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/207489286-Instant-Feedback-System-FAQ-#h1q1

It's been months (possibly over a year) since my last punishment and I had not received any notifications of being reported prior to receiving the perma ban. Can anyone offer insight on this or am I just a toxic a**hole?

I dunno man, maybe they just didn't like you calling people 'duo %%%%s'. Send a ticket, we can't tell you what happened.

Riot isn't going to give any estimations on the length at which deescalation in punishment occurs because that will incentivize certain individuals to try and play the system. In that same thread they won't tell players what key actions elevate punishment levels by what amounts. So If you've had actual punishments before its best not to guess how long you have to go before you are given leniency again. It would be better for your own benefit to assume you are never given said leniency again in fact. Submitting a ticket and asking for clarity on your particular case would be the best option.

If it's any consolation, making a fresh account could make it easier on ranked because you will probably be placed high and climb easier.

Other than that... Riot doesnt unban accounts unless it was a HUGE mistake. You might be out of luck.

Yea it sucks to have afks, griefers,feeders, and trolls. But you have to remember that if you try to fight back, they will abuse the system and get you banned instead. Not saying is fair, but it is how it is.

Riot did this in your favor. Make an new account, buy $1000,- worth of RP, be toxic and repeat the steps.

It's just a method of Riot to earn more money :)

Sorry to say bro, but toxicity was always a part of the game and since the new ban regulations the whole community has been growing from 2 sides. The 'I want to be this pro-player'-community and the 'I want to be this casual player'-community. The difference is that one group is while playing a bit toxic to it's team and the other half is this non-talking group that not even uses ping and just sees how the game goes.

In my opinion since the start of Season 6 the game has started to die.

agreed. LoL sucks now so I guess being banned isn't the worst thing in the world. I would have been crushed if this was season 2-3

Well, if you state your opinion, I will state mine. Toxicity is apart of any community. You will always have those asshats who totally misrepresent what the majority wants to represent. Read: Undertale Fandom, Most fandoms, who the fuck am I kidding every fandom.

Are you 14? I don't know where you have been living last 10 years, but I have played literally almost every game from Habbo to Runescape to CoD and BF3 and there was always toxicity to each other. People could just easily mute them and there was no bitching about to report those kids because when you don't pay attention to it, it's going to stop itself.

Meanwhile, Riot is trying to improve their system that literally does not work nor has influence on a player's behaviour since players will still have the intention to flame and will encouger them to do. Permanent bans don't work, they need to come up with other solutions. Match flamers vs flamers in dyna q or other gametypes. But who am I writing to, Riot only cares about money and power.

Flaming should not represent a community- It's just there. that was my point.

Also, it DOES work. Have you been to these boards pre-tyler1 ban? People were complaining about "why did I get chat restrict/ban" when they show these hostile attitudes and terrible chat logs. There are also players who do apologize when they realize they crossed the line at perma ban, and are truly truly sorry about being horrid, but it's far too late. A notable person of this is Reaper Review, who even encouraged others to reform before they got punished. Also, Riot has stated many times, they will not and will never do a prisoner's island.

And to fight your last point, if Riot cared about that, why would they go so far to get rid of toxicity?

Sucks that this happened to you mate, riot's ban system is broken and I think a lot of us feel that way. If it makes you feel any better I don't think that what you said justifies a perma ban /shrug

How sensitive are we that the above infractions are worthy of perm banning? I may be in the minority on these boards, but I just don't see the chat log as being that bad.
