I see a lot of frequent ban complaints, why not return to the previous punishment system?

Around the time season 5 arrived a new punishment system was added, it's basically 4 strikes and you've permanently lost your account

The issue here is that you're being treated the same way as someone who's intentionally throwing games or running it down mid as disco nunu. A lot of the time when someone is trash talking their own team or being negative in chat, they're still trying to win the game but they're just venting frustration in chat.

Before season 5 this was handled a lot better, continued toxicity and negativity was dealt with stacking chat restrictions, this would basically stack until you would need to play for several years to ever use the chat regularly again.

I can see why this was changed back then because your ability to communicate while chat restricted was very limited but nowadays with the improved pinging system this wouldn't that big of an issue.

Back in those days you'd only get suspended by extreme cases of chat abuse like death threats or rampant racism (which is fair)

People who intentionally throw games should still be recieving bans all the way up to permanent because they're influencing the actual game.

These are just my thoughts anyway :)!

You mean the Tribunal that also had just as many complaints and punishments slowed to a crawl since people refused to actually use it?

A lot of criminals have a problem with going to jail. That’s not an argument to get rid of laws.

Contrary to what you may think from ban posts, it’s actualy stupid easy to not get banned. As long as you act like a normal member of society, nothing bad will come to you.

The reason Riot moved away from that system is because the majority of people who could no longer be toxic through chat became toxic through gameplay.

Currently with the pings they would probably be toxic through those and then toxic through gameplay when they ran out, although that is just my guess.

Would like to throw out that verbal punishments do have more steps before a perm. Trolling/inting will be given a 14 day for first offense. Verbal you usually get two strikes before that.
