LoL community is by far the worst community of players I have ever encountered

Recently quit League for the sole reason of its community, and decided to come back almost a year later and as shocking as it may sound, the community is still as disgusting as ever.

I don't know if its because the reprimandations for being an utterly vile human being are just non-existent or if its because of the general animosity of the game.

My most recent games actually involve certain team mates flaming one another and once the argument hits all chat, the enemy team even begins ganging up on said team mate that was CLEARLY being singled out. Its like one big online hazing session where 'walking away' from the situation is more punishable than the actual crime.

Same with every other competitive game. CSGO, Overwatch, fuck even Rocket League isn't much better in my experience.

It is indeed the absolute worst, on both ends. A very toxic community, but also a super sensitive and easily offended community.

I think it's worse in this game than other games because you directly see it more. Chat is right in your face and they can ping the fuck out of you to annoy you. In other games you can mute or just not enable voice chat and that's it. In this game, even if you mute you still get the effects of the toxic behavior because of pings/post game lobby. Another thing to consider is also people notice your mistakes much more in League than they would in let's say Overwatch where people aren't directly observing your actions even when they're not dead. It's the culture of a MOBA though from what I've experienced League is worse than Dota and HOTS in terms of toxicity.

The thing that bothers me about MOBAs isn't necessarily the toxicity but the fact you have to continue to play with these people even though you're losing severely and they're just being assholes. In Ranked Team games in SC2 you can just leave the game with no penalties if people are getting toxic. The team is awarded resources for a player leaving so while they're still at a disadvantage they aren't completely screwed by someone leaving. While this would cause a lot of problems if instituted in a MOBA, it would be nice to find a way to instill a way to balance the game if someone leaves the game for w/e reason and just not punish people for leaving. I would much rather a toxic person quit the game than sit there and play the rest of the game with them.

Seriously!!! THE WORST!!! Im on my 4th account because of this exact thing. I tend to not like to let bullies do and say what they want and it translates into the game. Frequently I get singled out and bullied and I stand up for myself BUT when youre singled out by multiple people, that means you get multiple reports even if you werent the issue. Im NEVER just toxic in game. Ive NEVER just all he sudden start talking shit on someone, its always me defending myself against toxic people (or about 95% of the time lol) So what happens is you get those multiple reports and YOU get punished but THEY dont. This game in that way is so awful. My last account was perm banned after I defended someone who was getting bullied. But of course Riot employees dont care about context. Which is a major flaw in this game. If the real law enforcement worked like this our justice system would be FU**ED!

i 100% agree with the OP. this community is full of nothing but children who either A) want to ruin it for you because they're insecure or B) don't understand the mechanics behind such a simple game and therefore become upset with any criticism they receive and report you after game. this community needs to mature. i also agree with the comments about the community killing itself; it's already losing viewer ship to other games, and i myself don't tune in to any of the professional LCS games any more. i've played for seven years, i've seen players come, and go, i've grown, learned and adapted as a person and as a LoL player, yet the community is still the petty childish monstrosity that it was seven years ago. but hey, i'm just some random dildo sitting at home in his mothers basement, right? riot games, league of legends, you both suck.
