Chat bans
Riot needs to find another way to handle reports and honours, in a few games me and my opponents wanted to honour each other. Sometimes it is offering advice to people or just being friendly, either way sometimes you meet a nice enemy and want to honour them. Other times you are paired with trolls and they will go out of their way to be difficult, they will autolock their lane or feed, boss you around and name call and the very second you say anything back to them, these guys who are most likely a duo or even trio, tell the enemy team to report you and when it is 3 on 1, they are pretty convincing. So now it is the same as in school, some bully comes up to you and starts hitting you or bullying you, you beat the crap out of them, then the teacher (with RIOT written on their chest) punishes you. Yes, these people are ruining my day/game they are starting problems and you should punish people for daring to say one bad thing to them.
I won't be posting chat logs as I don't know how (haven't played in about 5 years or so, unsure of the exact figure on that). I'm not asking to be unbanned anyway, it's 10 days. I just don't feel comfortable with a system that lets someone get a chat ban so easily, with out-of-context chat logs and a troll riot will chat ban anyone, all you need to do to avoid it is let 12-year-olds walk all over you.
The exact details for those that are curious. So I have come back to league after a massive 5 year break. I am level 10 at the moment and in one game, a guy did the G ping to a lane, not on a tower mind you so there was no request for assistance or anything of the sort, just a generic G ping and blue outline. Now I was supposed to read this as "please, Garen, Teleport to this lane and help". So league having the high potential for toxicity it does indeed have, one player playing as Brand proceeded to say how retarded I am for not knowing that a random g ping to the middle of a lane was directed at me, so he and his mates reported me, that is how I got my teams reports. ( I did say some stuff to him after a good 10 minutes of him calling me a retard, something like "you are retarded if you think I am supposed to know that a random g ping is meant to mean you need me to teleport to the bottom lane, atleast use the fucking request for assistance ffs") As for the enemy team, an enemy yi (who openly said he wants to make people salty because he enjoys it) was saying how bad I am because got beaten by an enemy brand (different guy, there was two brands) so he naturally bragged when he beat me later on so I was quoted as saying "Now your life has meaning, doesn't it yi? Oh wait, it doesn't." Now I get that this wasn't really nice and such, but given the fact that I was getting heat from a guy on my team pretty heavily and this yi guy was trolling, I don't see how I can be chat restricted for 10 days. The chat logs I was shown randomly were little snippets of chat that were given to me out of context of the original. For example it will say that I said "Now your life has meaning, wait, no it doesn't" But it won't say that he said anything for the entire match beforehand and etc. Is the chat restriction system that broken in League at the moment that all it takes for a 10 day restriction is a trolling master yi and a guy that gets mad if you don't read his mind and aren't in the position to be able to do what he wants you to do anyway?
