Banning people for talking but not caring about doing...

So... I've noticed a few things with Riot's system, when you get your logs to see what was interpreted as "negative behavior" they only show your chats and not the chats of others, taking context and nuance out of the equation... Which is great if you're a social justice warrior rather than a thinking human being, but that's not what I would have hoped for from Riot. Also, you can literally say nothing and troll your team mate, there's plenty of ways to troll your team without feeding or going afk, plenty. But there is no option for that, unless you're "assisting enemy team or intentionally feeding" which I am convinced Riot doesn't even really care about, there is no way of reporting someone who is making the game worse. Another hat tipped to Riot for the nonsense system. Before anyone gets mad it should be noted that I am neither banned nor chat banned but I know how it is to be in one of these positions.

The next problem is the leaverbuster, this is a good system, if you check your servers every now and then, especially after each patch to make sure people aren't being force disconnected. There is nothing more frustrating than being antagonized by riot for losing a ranked game since you were "afk or leaving" when it was their own servers that DCed you. I'm not proposing make the leaverbuster system more sophisticated, we all know Riot would never do that. I'm saying with the amount of money and time we spend on your game, you should literally reward players who were wrongfully banned because your system had a problem. Skins, RP, whatever it takes to make your wrong, right. Because it is your wrong, after all :)

Now, I know what you're all thinking, Riot doesn't care about any of this stuff, they just wanna sell us RP, and you're right but I thought i would get this message across anyway so at least they can't say it was never brought up. Anyways, thanks for reading, look forward to your responses positive of negative as long as they're objective I will consider them which is more than I can say for Riot LOL. Cya I'm probly gonna get a ban for this so if I don't reply right away it's cus I'm banned for a couple days and ... who checks the forums if they're banned?

I agree.. I have not once seen or heard of a ban for intentional feeding. Lyte only claims that they punished someone, yet has never acknowledged what this punishment was. For us as players to even see that the system is working, Hard numerical evidence of the number of punishments over a specific period of time should be readily available. We need to see the system work, and not just hear about it on the forums of people bitching and complaining that they got banned.

I know I am tired of having a brain anyerusm in ranked when I get into promos and getting an intentional feeder, carrying as hard as I can (example 15-2-14 lux) but still losing because they fed someone like Vayne, rengar, jinx, or any other one of the champion that riot decides to overbuff with little to no counterplay and leave them there for three patches..

Please read the entire post before responding, first of all you only responded to one of three issues, the issue of context and nuance, but it's not a matter of retaliation necessarily, there are many things that can lack nuance and be misinterpreted as flaming. Sarcasm for example, if I were to trio queue a 3s game with my friends and I say "rekt" in all chat at the end of the game that's just for jokes, but I could have been cussing back and forth with my friends in normal chat. The system doesn't take who im Queue'd with, whether the message was in normal or all chat, nor does it take who sent the report. That's a LOT of context missing and the player analyzing the text is analyzing it without that context which results in a very faulty system. Like I said, re-read my comment, the whole thing.

Ah, already we are on the road to greatness here. Already our perception of you is compromised by using that wonderful non-specific phrase.

which I am convinced Riot doesn't even really care about

Except they do.

there is no way of reporting someone who is making the game worse.

Except you can.

Good point, though if you are DCing so much you are getting banned by leaverbuster, you just shouldn't play. Yes, Riot should keep better track of their servers. However, if it's a universal problem, they disable ranked queues so people just can't try.

Now, I know what you're all thinking,

No you don't.

Riot doesn't care about any of this stuff, they just wanna sell us RP

Many of them, a lot of them, want to improve the game because they enjoy playing it.

Cya I'm probly gonna get a ban for this

I can't tell if you are serious here, a lot of people are tinfoil hat about Riot.

THE OTHER PLAYER IN THE GAME I WAS REPORTED FOR WAS WAY MORE TOXIC THAN ME. HOW COME I WAS PUNISHED?

Simply speaking, retaliation is not an acceptable or justifiable behavior. An argument between two players can easily create a negative experience for the rest players in the game with you. Regardless of the other player’s actions, this does not justify your own behavior. You alone are responsible for your actions within the game. If you encounter a toxic player like this, the best option is to simply report their behavior and move on.

The thing you have to realize with chat reports, it's not how you feel about what you are typing, but how the person reporting you feels about what you are typing. To you, it could be a totally innocent, sarcastic statement, but to other people it could be hurtful.

The Rioters counter all your arguments with "This behavior was unnacceptable and the other player's actions do not constitute such toxicity"

It's a fucked up system [zombie-brand-facepalm]

Nope, You have no ideal what I'm thinking unless I tell you. What is it that is getting your ire up this much ?

Everything your complaining about Riot is working on. As for LB, doesn't matter if you did it on purpose or if it's your fault or not...It Definitely isn't the fault of the 9 other players in that game.

Also, when you read the logs of punished players those logs are just random games that got flagged and to get punished for comments that are Not hate speech and the like, YOU need a bunch of games reported.

Finally, all one needs to worry about is what they say Not what the other player is saying, Mute and report, don't be toxic back and you won't get a ban. When you see a log on the board it is for actions on that account only. The other players may very well be on there own way to a punishment.
