Smurfing. Where is the line Riot?
I mean, there are hundreds of links and pages and threads and posts complaining about smurfing. I think as someone who is on a new account to see what smurf city looked like from level 1 on, there doesn't seem to be a line in the sand at all. As a person who plays with plat/diamond players, I will say that while I do learn from them, yes? I would learn more from them in a coaching perspective. Perhaps an alternative game mode in which higher ELO players could watch us in real time. Perhaps friends could jump into that seat. Maybe make it a feature for Normal mode. I don't mean the 3 minute delay spectate either, force the watcher to have a fixed camera and all they can do are make suggestions via the voice chat they probably already have with their friends, or go wild, integrate one yourself.
Another solution is to simply disallow anyone to make new accounts. Sounds extreme? Well then perhaps only allow them into Normal games. Keep them out of ranked. How would you do that? Well it's simple; correct me if I am wrong, but Riot seems to have a detector in place to determine if new accounts are smurfs or not. I tested this by making a new account. I would say by level 12, I stopped seeing anyone that was not an established League of Legends player. In fact, from level 14-29 I played against primarily Diamond players and upon hitting 30 the game seemed to get easier. So there MUST BE some kind of system in place to determine that.
Why remove it at level 30 Riot? It's obviously something you have that is outside of MMR or ELO. When I play with higher ranked friends, we play normals. Only normals. They play on a main or alternative account. You want to stop paid boosting? REMOVE THAT COMPLETELY FROM RANKED. COMPLETELY.
No exceptions and no excuses either Riot. It's 2016 Riot and your game is at an all time low of players. Maybe it's because they're sick of it? MOBAs are fun. When I stop playing league, you best believe I will still be playing MOBAs. Truly, invent a new system or use the one you abandon at 30.
It's time to stop smurfs in ranked queues.
