What did I say that was offensive to anyone? Let alone me trying to defend someone? Is there even a point in opening up a ticket about this? My bot lane was trash talking my top lane all game, I try to defend and because I was typing back I got a chat ban? I get you have to automate punishments for the sheer number of games that need to be analyzed, but you're chat muting people off of this?

Asking for reports in the form of harassments and crude 'your mom' jokes.

The chat itself is kinda mild, but if you consistently do this (which report askers frequently do, cos they don't know it's punishable) over many games, it will get you punished.

This certainly isn't the worst stuff I've ever seen, so I'm guessing its more of a pervasive issue than just this one game. The system will let you get away with something like this every once in a while, but if you're getting reported again and again and again for mild toxicity, it will eventually catch up with you.
