They arent. Punishments are given in 4 steps

10 games chat restriction 25 games chat restriction 14 day ban Permanent ban

Because you made a habit out of it. They gave you 3 warnings before hand, and since you made no effort to improve, they removed you from the game

The new punishment volcano looks like this:

  • 5-game chat restriction.
  • 25-game chat restriction
  • 14-day suspension.
  • Permanent account closure.

So, yeah, doing that at the 14-day level got you perma'ed.

Looking over your chat logs, I would have voted to ban you, were the Tribunal back up. You clearly know that racial and homophobic slurs are wrong. Can you perhaps explain why you used them anyhow?

The reason I use slurs is simply because frustration. Since I'm a terrible player and I'm in the lowest division it's easy to throw games. It's easy to blame your teammates instead of blaming yourself. It also doesn't help that 9times out of 10 I'm playing by myself because I feel that I shoudn't play with my friends because if I do bad I'll make a fool out of myself and they'll decide to stop playing with me. Another reason why is because my environment. Everywhere I go and all the people around me use slurs (I tried extremely to refrain from bringing my environment into this because it has nothing to do with me but I had to) and the regular words I use on a daily basis are slurs that are prohibited on places such as this game.

Discipline is a skill that can be practiced like strength or memory. The trick is to say, "I won't lash out this game" and then try your best to make it happen. Then just keep trying, one game at a time.

I was with you part of the way, until you said "try your best."

People who are on their last strike can't afford to try their best. They screw up once, and regardless of how hard they were TRYING, they will be permanently banned.

The most beneficial and fair advice you can give a reforming toxic player is: THIS IS YOUR LAST SHOT! IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO MAKE A PERMANENT DECISION, WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT, GETTING THE LAST WORD IN CHAT, OR CONTINUING TO PLAY ON THIS ACCOUNT?

at this point you need some of Yoda's advice, "do or do not, there is no try"

I'm with you on trying to help them reform, but they need a realistic picture of what the expectation is to continue to play.

Guys, it's OK, the slurs were only because he was frustrated. Now that the truth is out RIOT will be along shortly to unban your account, downgrade you a punishment level and they will be comping you 3500 RP for your inconvenience.
