I would also like to note Syndra was telling me to kill myself after she did not receive blue buff and she repeatedly threw slurs at me. My teammates did nothing to support me, with some of their comments being 'stfu' and whatnot, so I defended myself. The only thing I see wrong in my chat logs is 'you are being an ass' due to namecalling, however, am I not allowed to defend myself from cyberbullying? I mean, I was that kid in school that was bullied a lot, and now it is all of a sudden wrong for me to stand up against this injustice? This is how people actually kill themselves you know. Please help my cause and raise awareness against cyberbullying. If we are not allowed to defend ourselves then who will? So far riot hasn't done a good job for me seeing as I get in trouble anytime I speak out against slander. What do my fellow summoner's think?

Two things,

First, insulting them back is not defending yourself, it's retailiating. If you want to avoid seeing their chat, you mute. Report at the end of the game if you feel it's necessary.

Second, asking others to report someone is unnecessary and only serves to antagonize them further. If you want to report someone, do it at the end of the game. If others are going to report someone, they should do it without the encouragement of others.

You getting hit with a punishment doesn't mean that the other person was in the right and you were in the wrong. It only means that your behavior, and yours alone, was being judged in this situation. They will be judged in their own card. You are responsible for your own behavior regardless of how others are behaving.

This isn't an necessary suspension at all. If this is one game you spammed the hell out of chat, pretended you were defending yourself when in all reality you're retaliating, and being honestly completely toxic. There's no reason for you to retaliate. Mute them and play the game. It's not about talking.

you must not read too well pal, I already admitted that I should not have called him an ass, even though I do not regret it, I shouldn't of. that much is violating code. what I am asking is this: what part of my story is breaking code other than calling him an ass? asking for reports is not by any means breaking code if you search it up. I am not required to mute anyone either. So if you are to answer, give me an answer to the question I asked.

I do not believe that violates anything, regardless, I can get banned for 2 weeks for my first minor offense in a long time for that? I wont lie, on my first account I got away with way worse (I'm not condoning this behavior) so you tell me, is riot going to be strict with their policies or not, because I'm not about to lose a 2nd account of riots confusing policies. so far as I'm concerned, I'm getting banned for 2 weeks for saying, you are being an ass, when ive seen much worse from others.

if my username offended anyone, i am sorry, riot can surely send me a free rename and I would have 0 problem renaming, but regardless, you are not looking at the picture at hand. when I say I have changed, I really have. I used to criticize everything my teammates did, which made them salty and probably got reported too. I looked back on it and told myself I needed to stop and I have. now all of a sudden, when I'm saying something to someone with some meaning, I'm now the bad guy because I didn't say it right? its pretty pathetic when I'm taking a stand against something I believe in and I get in trouble for it even though it as a worldwide issue.

Ive been banned for the exact same crap - You are allowed to be trolled or harrassed in this game, people now dont even have to talk, they just follow u around and steal all ur CS's and stand still and let u die as their way of trolling u, and anything u say is suddenly offensive to them so u get reported. im just charging back and saying screw this game, the tribunal has ruined it so hard.

You didnt defend yourself. Defending yourself means you are in danger. At no point during that game were u in danger. You chose to get into verbal fight with another player.

The severity and the harm the speech fight presented can be opinionated so I will leave that alone. However, as others have continuously mentioned and is treated as a common knowledge on this board. showing sign of reporting someone (even if it's perfectly justified) falls under the category of 5. If you do not believe your report statement violates the term then you're free to believe so, but your opinion doesn't matter in this regard. Saying " I don't think saying N word in front of a black man is considered offensive" isn't going to get you out of trouble because it's the general public and authority's opinions that matter.

You may be able to argue with the severity of your punishment, though. While your team was indeed caught in the middle of a heated verbal conflict, it didn't escalate to any sort of hate speech and while the chat wasn't pleasant, I personally don't consider any of it as harassment.

Lastly, what others did has absolutely nothing to do with what you did, since your action is entirely based on your decision. You're more than encouraged to defend yourself just like all of us are, but only in the appropriate way at it. Just because someone robbed you doesn't mean now you're allowed to break into their house and take back your belongings, because now the cops will arrest both of you for breaching others' properties. The correct approach should've been reporting to the police and let them handle it, even if you're dissatisfied with their work and the way they deal with it.

as for being punished, sure I may deserve to get the report, but to be 14 day banned after I haven't committed any offenses in a month? I mean it does say that your punishment decays so where is that at? most of the time I mute my teammates anyways, but when I saw the vulgar language coming out of that syndra of course I would want to take a stand. you can have whatever opinion you want, whether I was antagonizing syndra more or annoying my teammates on purpose, but I will repeat, I was simply trying to take a stand against the toxicity from the 5% of this community. If anything, I think a permanent chat ban for me that way I don't 'offend any offenders' any longer since clearly I cannot speak my own mind in this game. I'm the type of person that will tell you what you are doing wrong, sometimes that's good and sometimes it isn't, but id rather be permanently limited to a normal chat ban (3 chats then 1 every 5 minutes) so that I can at least use my chats wisely to communicate with my teammates. What do you think about that?

I think that's pretty dumb due to 'rule-sharking', but I feel that they should put that in the summoner's code. I cannot be expected to assume I'm not doing anything wrong when I really am.

ya know what, is it wrong to have an opinion about someone now-a-days? anytime anyone flames my teammates, I back the victim up. the fact that jinx and either my top laner or support was backing the person harassing me should justify my comment. however, seeing as how no one can take criticism anymore because people are soft, I will admit I did not need to say that. as for you thinking I am toxic, I would say the level of salt I had that game was probably a pinch. should not get a 14 day for what I see as 3 minor verbal offenses when riot clearly states that the severity of your punishments decays over time, which its been about a month and a half, and I play about 6 games a day after work so you do the math on that. When I was just like that toxic syndra, my first account (this being my second) got punished after 3 or 4 extremely toxic games. don't get me wrong, there were things I shouldn't of said, but a 14 day ban due to saying 'you're an ass' and 'shameful display of being a teammate'?

pretended I defended myself? if you could get riot to post the entire chat log you will see my issue. as for muting, normally I do, but when people are going so far as to telling others to end their life, I will speak up. that should not even be reportable.
