Is it illegal Riot?

Is Raptr againt policy? I dont want to be accused for cheating or anything stupid, but it just records and optimizes the GPU however before I use it I dont want riots "Mystery machine" to accuse me of something and then never be able to get my account back, I asked Riot but they didnt say its allowed or not they just said if it add to you're game play and blah blah blah and said but we can't tell you because it will tell you our secrets, has anyone been using it and not get in trouble? I see someone people have been perma band and are saying they have raptr, but riots has not made that clear yet.

unless riot specifically says it's ok to use, DON'T RISK IT

you will get permabanned if they even suspect that you're cheating

Fare enough just annoying that they dont have an approved list or unapproved, alot of accounts get banned for stuff like that I feel

If they had a set list it wouldnt exploit anything it would show what is allowed, anything not allowed would not be on that list, simple as that, to be exploited we would have to know the program they use, and what they are checking for within the software.

How would it be exploited? That makes zero sense. If something were approved, it would be clear what is allowed and obviously those things approved would not be problems. Riot owes us at least that much. I shouldn't have to question whether I can use even basic features of my Razer mouse software.

i wish we had a list of approved 3rd party programs too but i can understand why riot doesn't want to do that

for one, riot saying a program is ok and then that program changing and adding functionality that riot considers cheating. riot says, "yeah, you can use this program, because it's only changing cosmetic features of the game, and doesn't benefit you in any way"

and then that program changes and adds a scripting feature. do the people who use that program get banned, or does riot allow a program that has a scripting feature? either way is completely unfair. it's safer for them to just not make rules about this stuff.

Obviously a program that had such scripting features wouldn't be approved regardless of its intended use. If those features are added after approval, it would quickly be banned. There is no difficulty here or anything complicated. It's very easy to do with no negative consequences. These hypotheticals make it seem a lot harder than it is in reality. Every sport has rules and also banned substances etc., if Riot takes e-sports seriously, they should clarify their own rules.

If it gives you an unfair in-game advantage, it's against the rules. If it doesn't, then it's fine.

If it affects the game or its code directly in any way, then yes, it's not safe. If it's making the computer run more smoothly by more intelligently allocating the computer's resources, then no.

Hmmm. I would suggest submitting a support ticket to get the answer on this. Riot is a little particular on programs that alter the GPU and they did ban one player for a program that altered the GPU here recently. Riot later reversed the ban but advised players to be very careful when doing this.

Raptr doesn't do anything to give you an advantage to my knowledge. All it does is optimize video settings for your GPU and share video clips.

You can use it.

Things that would be more on the questionable side would be mouse macros. I'm not talking binding abilities to mouse buttons. I'm talking about using a pre-defined button sequence on a single button press. i.e. Press a single button on your mouse to do a full Diana combo of Q R W AA E R AA or whatever. It is easily detectable, but it's not something you'd get reported for. It's detectable because it would be cast at the same intervals every time. Maybe 40ms apart?
