Undeserved chat restriction

Edit: This is what I personally believe is undeserved. If someone can explain to me why this is recognized as toxic when i am being told to shut my fucking mouth and being called worthless then please fill me in. If I truly am the one being toxic then I'll work on improving it. End edit.

This is my full chat logs. I was laning and at level 3 my lane left to gank bot, while it was warded. I pinged ontop of them 5 times. No exaggeration at all. When my lane got bot he got a double kill because they (Jhin and Alistar) decided to fight him. Then they hurt my feelings pretty bad because for the remainder of the game they completely flamed on me and cursed at me. Calling me worthless and trash and that i should learn my lesson to shut my fucking mouth. Alistar even said " I'm gonna make you lose to teach you a lesson." then he proceeded to grief me by coming to my lane and headbutting yasuo ontop of me to get me killed. This experience is one that makes me want to quit league. I said that in my reports against them. Yet through all the shit they said to me I get a chat restriction? It makes me so depressed that people can just talk to me that way and then I get punished. Wow.

Key work: Game 1. I am sure you have been reported SEVERAL times which resulted in your ban. They do not give you the chat log to all of them, just send you one, two, or three as an example of why you are banned. I am sure you were toxic several times over the course of several games.

well this is my most recent game played so if this is game 1 then this is the only one. And i wasn't even toxic during this game. They were telling me all of these awful things. I'm still really depressed by it.

I do believe this restriction is unfair, but dude.. come on, you're not depressed by it. This probably had 0 effect on your mental health.

it's not the fact that i got a chat ban. I don't usually even talk too much in chat. It's what they said to me. Struggling with depression in the first place, and then going into a game I use as an escape just to be called worthless more than I already am isn't a great thing. Then being told to " Shut the fuck up" constantly. And after that even the guy had the audacity to message me about this specific post and call me a liar and say this isn't the full log. I wish someone from riot would post the full log so you could see the things these people were saying. It really did hurt.

Riot won't post the "full chat" logs in terms of the what the others are saying. But seriously though, you should find a more relaxing game that won't have people in it, because people suck. I usually play games that give me a laugh when I want an escape.

I do not see how this would possibly lead to a chat restriction... My past games people have been toxic and flaming but nothing happens, so I believe it to be unfair just to give this single player out of the lot a chat restriction.... item 3070

I mean you started the game out by essentially pointing out someone else's poor play.

While not banable, all that serves to do is set a negative tone to the entire game, and it'll likely lead to reports.

Just think of what your mom taught you when playing league. If you can't say sometime nice, don't say anything at all.

Seriously. Next time someone makes a bad play and you have the urge to type something. Try "NBD, you'll get him next time". That attitude will win you so many games...

If other people are harassing you, just mute them and play on.

you're right. It was just hard for me not to get mad at the start of the game because they immediately flamed on me after he ganked and i was like " What i pinged 5 times". I don't know. I guess I should have been the bigger person.

Chat restrictions exist to warn you that your behavior over multiple games is bad, but they only show you the last game that got you punished. In this case, you were negative towards your teammates and called them (admittedly mild) names. That's not appropriate and done over a large number of games can result in a permaban.

2:34 in the video is what i was attempting to do. It was meant to be lighthearted and not offensive. And the reason I escalated that quickly is because of the names they were calling me. I wish i had a full chatlog of what they said. It was seriously insanely hurtful. And I didn't know that I've been reported multiple games. I'll try working on it, thank you for the response.

The thing is, what they did to you is irrelevant. 2 wrongs don't make a right, retaliation is never okay, period. You are the only one in control of you.

He retaliated just a little bit by calling Alistar a baby. What I think, that was self defense if what the guy said is true about them flaming him. Moreover, if this is the only game he got chat restricted over (I doubt it) then it was unfair. I think we should be looking at the chat logs from a bigger perspective rather than just focus on those retaliation lines.

I feel like people read through chat logs with this mindset: "good." "nothing to see here... " keeps reading "oh! found it, he called alistar a baby" "deserved."

Which is super wrong.

It's plain and simply not possible to get a chat restrict from one game. RIOTers have posted this multiple times. And just because the straw that broke the camels back (this chatlog) is minor, doesn't change that over a period of many games, it's unacceptable.

No I know that, which is why I wrote in brackets "I doubt it". But.. what I am saying is, if this was possibly a mistake and this was the only game (mistakes do happen) then its unfair.

TBH, my opinion is it's a chat restriction. If it's really undeserved, it'll fall off and never happen again. But It's basically 99.99999% guaranteed it's deserved, so he should expect us all to be skeptical.

Of course. And considering there is no further evidence, added to the fact that like.. 99% of the threads on this board is to prove their "innocence" (never works) I take everything with a grain of salt on here. LOL.

dont get me wrong but just because its in a video (and just because it has a few 100k clicks, and i love sky) doesnt mean its true. when sky tells you to type back, ignore him like seriously. typing back is never a good thing. NEVER

Any time I see a word like "undeserved" in a topic complaining about a ban or chat restriction, I already know the punishment is deserved. You almost don't even have to post in the thread to point it out. I did though. Bad me.
