Got 14-day suspended while having a 25-game chat restriction

Hello, So after a few games having 25-game chat restriction, I got 14-day suspended. Is that really a possibility now ? Or am I glitched out ? Someone please explain. Thank you !

If you continue to be toxic during your chat restriction, it is certainly possible to be escalated to a ban. Continuing toxicity during a restriction does absolutely nothing other than prove that a chat restriction is not severe enough a penalty to stop you from being toxic.

I figure racism and death threats still elevate you to an instant ban, as per usual. A chat restriction is NOT "chat immunity" aka "type whatever you want without consequences".

Nah death threats or racism get 15 day suspended and it is immediate without prior restrictions required. I posted chatlog above and theres no d/t or racism :)

But there is hate speech in it. Retard is classified as a slur against the mentally disabled, and when combined with the rest of the toxicity in this log, I would assume that this 14 day suspension was not applied in error. Most of this log is rather rude, if not downright against the rules.

Game one is filled with insults towards your team, as well as slurs. These sorts of comments are definitely best left out of chat. If you continue making them, you will definitely end up with a permanent suspension shortly after your 14 day suspension is over.

This game isn't as bad as the first one, but again, it's toxic. Chat like this will be enough to bump your account up into a permaban. For your own sake, you need to stop treating your teammates this way.

I'm confused. Doesn't a chat ban mean Riot literally took away his ability to type to other players for a set time? If that's the case, then I could see his problem. Like, how would you get banned without saying a word? Or am I looking at it wrong?

If im not mistaken you have 5 times to use chat when in game and it give you more time to chat after some time, but it never goes over 5. Im not too sure if they changed it!

It's a chat restriction, not chat ban.

When restricted, you get 5 lines at the start of the game, then +1 line per minute.

Do you have chat logs from the 14-day ban? There's no exclusivity between chat restrictions and the ban at the next step of the punishment ladder. Nothing prevents you from being toxic inside your limited messages to harass others.

If the cause of the 14-day ban is the same as the cause of the 25-game chat restriction, you've run into double jeopardy; Riot will overturn that (one or the other).

Of course, the cause of the 14-day ban could be something completely different. Were you banned for account boosting, or 3rd-party modifications? Those are completely independent systems and will absolutely overlap.

I'm not here to clarify wether I'm toxic or not, but after first 10 games in preseason ( Didn't play for a long time ) I got 14 day suspended so just wondering if this is overlap issue or not.

If the same chat logs (specifically the same two games) caused two separate punishments, then the second ban is in error. If you contact support and explicitly specify that a single reform card caused two distinct punishments, they should overturn the 14-day ban (Alternatively, they might say that it is an elevated punishment, and remove the chat restriction but keep the ban. But considering the system is automated, that seems rather unlikely). There will a time delay of several days as support processes the ticket, but Riot generally credits XP-boosts to players who incorrectly received bans.

Take this with a grain of salt, mind you. I strongly encourage an introspective look at your actions that caused your chat restriction, because continuing to harass teammates for their mistakes will certainly lead to a correctly applied 14-day ban.

It depends. The system is designed to respond to failing to change behavior. If there was significant toxicity in your chat, you might have gotten escalated.
