We play this game for different reasons, and I am not sorry.

So, recently, I've been playing a lot of team builder during pre-season. (My computer isn't the fastest on hardware, so it's my only way to play mid/top lane.) And I just finished a few matches where I wanted to play Graves ADC. Now, I am very well aware of his weaknesses, and accepting a lobby with a Braum support didn't help. (The braum saved my ass, and is honored as hell, but his attitude toward me ruined that, I was saying how braum isn't the best complement to Graves.) Throughout the game, I'm getting behind from vayne with RFC and her Nami support +/- 4-to-5 man ganks. And I'm still keeping up on farm, and having fun catching people and going BANG! However, our comp did not help out Graves as a champion, and teamfighting just got me focused with no hard disengage since Amumu would engage and get countered.

Commense CONSTANT belittling, and hearing "worst ADC ever" etc. for the whole game. But what really got me was reading "Stay bronze kid" for a few reasons: 1: I'm not bronze, I'm mid-silver. I know about the game, but am faulty on application. I know what I SHOULD do, but it usually doesn't co-exist with what's more fun. I'm working on that, and could/would probably be in low-mid Gold if I didn't feel preseason was pointless for ranked. 2: "Stay bronze kid" is not registering as an insult to me "stay bad at the game kid" doesn't resonate with me. I'm not trying to be the next Faker, or Doublift. I'm not trying to get fame and noteriety. I'm trying to go in, press Q-R and see people disappear, laughing. There's no queues for peple like me, and people like this person is why, because they will no doubt go in like egomaniacs and stomp people who like doing silly stuff.

We have this odd mentality as a community, like we're all training for some great match. We're not professionals, and I certainly don't want to be, even if given the option. I can acknowledge this game as a sport, but it's also a game. Madden is a competitive game, but I'm still going to throw a Hail Mary on a 1st down for shiggles, especially a pickup game with other people in a casual queue. Again this is teambuilder. If I'm slacking in ranked, by all means get angry, I honestly feels it's justifiable. People play ranked to show they're better than their opponents and prove they are mightier. Team Builder was literally designed for the sake of having an easier environment to try things you may not otherwise be comfortable with.

tl;dr I play norms to do weird stuff and have fun with silly comps, don't like it? Bugger off to ranked

Hm. Okay. If YOU say so. But then again, the majority of people enjoy losing and not getting that extra XP and IP. Ok, sure. Makes sense to me.

I think this is extra relevant if you're supporting, as well. It's just not fun when you can't succeed because your ADC sucks. Yes, you could just leave him, but most of the time the other lanes will backping you away.

That's right. Blame everyone else. Typical.

You can do whatever you want. But just remember that if you goof off, get reported, and Riot thinks you did so to be disruptive, they'll punish you. And you can cry about it all you want. It won't change anything.

There is a distinct difference between "play to lose" and "play to have fun". None says the latter is the same as the former, and "goofing off" is perfectly acceptable as long as that person still knows what he's doing.

Now, I could be wrong here, but I have been under the impression that Team Builder is the mode for having fun/goofing off in; where people try off-meta builds and whatnot. AP Shaco? Have at it. Riven mid? Knock yourself out. AP Miss Fortune? Go ahead. It doesn't matter as long as you know what you are doing, excel at it or at least have a gameplan. Having fun is the best way to learn, and if you can't have fun, how is anyone ever expected to learn anything?

You want to play the metasheep, that is your prerogative, but don't expect everyone else to play at your skilllevel. Oh, that's right, I forgot, the meta is just a fictional concept made up by us players, and what happens on a day-to-day basis is just a copy of what is being done in competitive play, and not a rule set in stone anywhere, and is most certainly neither suggested nor enforced in any way by Tencent.

Also, there are just some champion combos that doesn't work very well. Perhaps Graves/Braum is one of them, I dunno, but I would like to name Vayne/Bard as another. Though in a world without grey areas it should work, as it's an ADC + support, but in a real lane, it doesn't really.

If you can't have fun in a game, even just from time to time, and in Team Builder especially, what's the point? OP even states himself he has no plan to be a professional player, yet I agree everyone acts as every game is a LCS final or something. And if anyone doesn't do their job, aka thrashing their opponent, there's rage, flame and hellfire to be had.

You consider other people's point of view too, before stating your own view so harshly.

worst argument ever. so can I say, "just because its not ranked you can try hard and ruin it for the others that just want to goof"? use your brain a little better next time

I have almost 30,000 IP. I have nothing to work towards, I own every champion except Taric (will not purchase him on principle. I remember what you did to him Riot.) If you care about numerical values and not quality of gameplay. again, you're playing team builder for a different reason than me. I play Malph-Ori-Yas with my friends, not because we're good with those champions (Especially the yasuo player lol) But to get that sweet sweet wombo combo. A loss is worth it. The end does NOT justify the means in this game to me. I've had close wins that were just draining. I've had absolutely crushing defeats that were a blast because of one combo, or pushing away WW everytime he ulted me as Syndra (The dank predicts!) You play the game for a different reason than me. That's okay, but it's certainly not superior or inferior to why I play the game, and I am not sorry that your precious 50 IP was compromised be cause me and maybe another person was having some fun.

tl;dr loosen your your tie, unbuckle yer pants, and cut loose (footloose) once in a while, or stay mad. I'm not your boss, but you ain't mine ;D

Every single of my 177040 IP agrees with you! If just not on the Taric part. Though I regret the purchase, as I've been living in fear ever since of anyone trolling me and gifting me Armor of The Pink Rage Taric, because they know I hate it so. >-<

However, you should prioritize winning slightly over purely having fun. ;)

But my worst wins are those draining ones you speak of - where the fights goes back and forth with no clear winner until everyone is perma-Exhausted, and one error on either side occurs. When the victory screen appears (I at least hope it's the victory screen, though at that point I really can't tell the difference anymore), I'm just all too glad to Alt+F4...and usually get some long-delayed dinner.

I mostly agree with you, it just http://pre14.deviantart.net/1226/th/pre/f/2015/148/0/5/sad_pepe__feels_bad_man__vector_by_hirussai-d8uq43y.png when I have multiple bad games in a row while my enemies seem to quite frequently do rather well in TB. I agree raging in Normals over people not performing well enough seems pretty silly, and I feel the same way about Ranked for the most part. Generally all raging does is make sure we lose from what I've seen.

Getting angry with your teammates (or taking it to chat anyway) will always be bad, ranked, normal, whatever.

Play the game to win, not with the intention of losing is what I say, even if it is normals. Normals for me IS the game. I'm not playing ranked, and I know it's there for those who want it, but I don't view it as the way League is meant to be played or whatever.

The game doesn't change between ranked and normals, just people's attitudes and the little borders you get for certain ranks.

When I play a game of League, I play to the best of my ability. Even if I am trying new things. Since winning is the preferred goal, I try to win. And that makes me the bad guy here.

I guess I'm guilty. /shrug

That's okay. You can play that way. I'm saying for you not to demand the same mindset from me outside of ranked. You're only guilty if you treat me like your way is the only way to play.
