The Huge Flaw Within Riots Player Punishment System and the New Loot System

Hi everyone, I have recently submitted a support ticket to riot. This is what i had to say, I just want to see what you all think! Have a good night.

Hello Riot. I recently contacted you about not being eligible for earning loot through getting an S rank in a game. This was because a while back (2 weeks ago I think), I was chat restricted for 25 games as a punishment. I worked all those games off and I should now be eligible, right? You, Riot Games, clearly state:

"No. Players who are chat or ranked restricted or currently banned from play cannot earn or unlock chests through Champion Mastery. Once they’ve reformed, they’ll be eligible for rewards again."

I have "reformed" by completing those 25 games, haven't I? I have not flamed or shown toxic behavior for at least 15-20 games (Since I've completed the restrictions). Not only that, I never flamed my team during those restriction games. I'm trying so hard to do something I've already done, which is reformed.

In my first email I spoke with "Riot SticK" about this issue and he/she stated:

"This restriction will be lifted after your punishment ends and you’ve shown clear improvement. Because it’s based on your personal behavior, there’s no set date or time when this will happen."

So basically you're telling me there's an entire time period I have to wait until this restriction is lifted? I can't show clear improvement obviously, unless i play more games. But why would I want to keep playing if I'm not going to earn loot? This is the clear and very frustrating flaw where your reward and player support system clash each other. I would like to have my restriction lifted but also so shine light on the huge flaw in your system.

Having the system work like this is not going to keep people from being toxic, in fact, more people will get frustrated and end up taking it out on some teammate or enemy, resulting in their demise. You're not helping people right now and we want answers.

I'm not complaining that you're offering free skins and champions, I'm just mad that your system is completely and utterly the most frustrating thing on the game. It should make people happy, not mad

-Yours truly

//End

P.s. I understand that before this having a restriction and not being able to earn loot wasn't a concern because there was nothing to earn, however, now that there is something to earn its almost taunting me that I can't share an experience other players get. I guess I'm a toxic player, whatever..

Just because you have finished the punishment, aka gone through the chat restrict, served a ban time, ect doesn't mean that you nor anyone else has truly reformed. They usually have a period of 3 months after that in which if you don't gain another warning then you will be reformed.

Not a flaw. Even before this it took minimum 3 months to go down a punishment tier. You served your punishment. Now, to be 'reformed' you have to prove you learned your lesson. If you didn't do anything to be punished in the first place, you wouldn't have this problem.

I'm going to preface this by saying I've never been banned or chat restricted myself. I do find this system to be a bit unfair, if only that there's no clear time that your restriction will last. If nothing else I'd wish they would have something like "We'll check up on you again in X days/weeks/months" so that you can at least have some benchmark to look forward to.

Yes, I get it's rough not being able to earn free stuff - but Riot has always excluded (past Christmas rewards) players who only hurt the community by playing. Just try to treat other members with respect, and eventually the favor will be returned to you ^.^ .

You'll loose out on 3-4 free skins tops - at the cost of you becoming a better player.

All this does is promote lack of communication within teams. Received multiple reports for asking people to stop banning due to them having duo/multiple friends playing and a simple "can you stop feeding" results in reports. Chat logs in recent chat ban are very one-sided and do not even address nature of discussion or who instigated issues.

End of the day, I'm now refusing to communicate except through pings due to they hyper sensitivity of players who abuse the new queuing system. I've been playing for 5 seasons now, received my first ban a few weeks ago. I'll admit, I was frustrated with early-season grind, however, fact remains that unless Riot is wiling to actually analyze the reports, all they're doing is promoting lack of communication or partisanship within teams.
