Rioters in games

Midget Face··7 votes·707 views

I haven't seen many rioters in games, but the few i have seen were all really nice. For example, I was in a ranked game recently, [slayer-jinx-unamused] and in the game the rioter was up for a promotion interview. And even though we were wrecking them, he waited to go because to him our teams win was more important to the promotion (mostly because riot understands what it means to be in a ranked game). Also, in case you were wondering he got the promotion. [slayer-jinx-wink] [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

most rioters ive seen in games never say a word and just silently play the game even if there is a feeder or troll in the game, they just silently play the game.

I got a question: Why did you put the unamused Jinx sticker when you are complimenting that Rioter?

While I appreciate that Rioter for being sportsmanlike and stay with the team until the end even though the interview was coming up, he shouldn't have played when he knew he got an interview. You know, time management is more important than anything in this game as a match can take long.

What's worse is the example he's setting for all the rest of the players. I understand it's cool that you missed your interview for a game, but how many people in ranked would actually stay instead of just afking.

The parallel is not " ignored life because ranked more important "; The person in question is a Rioter -- meaning the bosses will understand that they wanted to play out the match so they had their full undivided attention, since they're in the same building.

It would have been BM for the player in question to dodge/AFK to go to the interview, since it's a special work situation where they can afford that luxury.

In lives like yours, you're not going to play a match when you need to get to an interview in sub-20~30 minutes -- that's bad common sense.

Priority one would be to deal with things with proper gauges of importance;

  • Wife's water broke? Tell your team you're sorry and that you need to go be a parent.

  • Girlfriend wants you to pull out your joystick and play Call of Booty 3: Hardened Edition, tell her she can wait 20~25 minutes and watch some Netflix and eat the dinner you made her.

The point and message you should come away from this with is that a(ny) Rioter can afford to put something in-house on hold because they know dodging matches and BMing is both frowned upon and setting a worse example than any flaming troll -- because the company name and image is attached.

That's nice but a larger portion of the population that does play league ISN'T employed by riot. HOWEVER most of them won't make that distinction between "They are a Rioter and can put off these obligations for a ranked game because that's what setting a good example of a Riot employee is like" vs "I can totally still start a game when I have other prior commitments"

A player is responsible for those choices -- if they're starting matches they can't finish, that's on them -- not Rioters.

You're misunderstanding what I'm trying to say. I'm saying that most people won't talk to that rioter or give a single care about if he's working for riot. People are more self centered than that, and will usually be like, "Oh well he did it so I can too." They won't make the distinguishment of "riot employee actions don't have the same consequences as mine based on the fact that they work for a large corperation that allows them to do such things"
