LeaverBuster Seems too harsh for casual players.

I am a father of a 9 month old who only has time for a game or 2 well my daughter is having a nap. When she wakes up I have to go take care of her and either leave the game or go AFK. I understand that It really hurts the team and that it is unfair and I agree with the punishment is good, being forced to wait a long time to enter a game for repeat offenders, especially for ranked games or competitive play however, I play only casual games against AI players unless I know for sure I have time to play a full game.

For my situation, I only can finish 1 game on a normal day so when I have a 20 minute wait time this makes it impossible to actually finish a game for me. I would like some kind of possible solution for the casual player like myself. Perhaps a Que for players who are not serious that grants no exp or rewards for players who go AFK or leave and doesn't put them in the LeaverBuster wait Que?

I guess I'm just frustrated since now I may never get to play at all because of this wait time.

As someone in the same position, yep, League isn't the game for us. It doesn't seem fair, does it?

But we have that responsibility. You either have to play when she is asleep for the night or give up playing for now. There's no real third option.

It isn't fair for the other players for you or I to start playing then have to get up.

Here is the thing: I sympathize with you, and I understand it may not be fair for you. But when you leave, it is unfair for the 9 other players whose game was ruined. You can make the choice to play knowing you may have to leave at any moment, and I respect that choice. But the other 9 players DID NOT make that choice, and you cannot make it for them.

It really sucks to be on the receiving end of any such system, but unfortunately the system must remain in place to limit the number of games ruined by an afk

I was in the same boat as you, I have 2 kids now, and during the time when they were little, I would get leaver bustered.

But I never got into a 20 min leaver buster. I got 5 min leaver buster, twice (and man, I don't know what you are doing to get up to that point).

Realising I can't commit to a full SR game, I played ARAM alot. Sometimes I'd just load up a custom / bot game and practice mechanics / last hitting / wall wards etc etc. You even have practice mode right now to make that even easier. My total game time was certainly reduced during that time, I ended up watching alot of videos on how to get better, which eventually allowed me to climb out of bronze.

You can also try to move her sleeping area near the computer, so if she does wake up, you can quickly put your hand on her / let her hold onto your finger, so it assures to her that you are around, thus she doesn't freak out and may calmly go back to sleep.

The 5 min / 10 min leaver buster is supposed to tell you already to change the way you interact with the game. When ignoring those warnings, you should be prepared to pay for those consequences.

I mean there are other options as people stated here bots, custom all help for people who need a quick fix. They really don't take into account people like you because sadly it's such a small percentage of the player base who are like you. Plus no offense but who would play a game mode that basically offers nothing in return?

There is one, it's called "custom game".

Try making custom games for when you may not have time.
