Banned (14 day) for This? With almost no history?

I realize you think these /all chat comments are hostile, but if you look at them, they are used in a jocular manner. I would assume that most players understand that it is a jocular tone based on experience with this gaming community and the fact that I know nothing about my opponents in this game and their personal lives. I realize you think I should probably punished in some way because I know there are people who get offended at this even when used in a jocular manner, but I feel like an account ban - regardless of duration - for something of this level is out of line. I would totally understand some form of punishment that deals with the nature of the offense, say, a chat restriction - also regardless of duration - would be way more appropriate. I apologize if I offended anyone, and I will be more considerate in the future.

Homophobic hate speech, dude. People don't give you the benefit of the doubt that you're kidding. And they aren't at all required to be okay with you joking around in that manner.

I have hella friends that call people the N-word and the like that have never gotten banned or even chat restricted.

I understand that you might think that tight policing is the answer to all bad behavior, but there is no way to mandate morality and against vulgarity. Considering you're someone who's permabanned that looks like they search these kind of threads to hop in and deposit the all important $0.02 in favor of Riot every time; I think your opinion is a little slanted here.

Riot can mandate whatever they want. It is their game. Playing League is a privilege, not a right. You either abide by the rules or you will be punished.

They have tried many different methods over the years, none of them have worked. Like many others, I believed I could be toxic and get away with it because I had done so for years. It wasn't until I was permabanned and lost everything that I was forced to change my ways. And this is becoming the sad reality for many players. I always warn players who receive a 14-day ban, what is in store for them next if they do not change their behavior, and every time they brush me off. The truth is, people do not take warnings seriously. And some don't even take being permabanned seriously. They just make new accounts and continue down the same road.

If you enjoy wasting your time, by all means, do whatever you like. The only way you are going to truly enjoy league, is by following the rules. And if everyone followed the rules, the game would be in a much better state.

Most every person I've come into contact with that has either been temporarily or permanently banned that has returned to the game has come back markedly more toxic than when they left. You might have changed, and that's great, but for the majority of players that is not and will never be the case. I've never been banned, chat restricted, and was honor 5 last season. I don't flame or int or anything like that not because it's the rules, but because I know what it can do to others by being destructive. I didn't learn that by being stricken by higher powers and consigned to some de facto prison. I learned it by interacting with others, and I feel like if Riot really wanted to make an actionable difference in the behaviors of the majority of toxic players, it'd be by teaching players why toxicity is ineffective rather than some silencing. It especially doesn't help that some players skirt around facing and sort of disciplinary action by just following a list of words that shouldn't be said.

Hate speech escalates you to a 14 day ban immediately, regardless of whether you were chat restricted previously or not.

You could stand to act more mature as well, your childish behavior shows your age.

Nothing about any hate speech is a joke. Doesn't matter if the person you said it to even laugh along with you. It's the fact of the word's origin has always been used for an abusive term since the 16th century. So nothing about that word can be taken as a joke. Ever. Hate speech, in general, cannot be taken as a joke. Ever. The fact you're ignorant enough to take that word lightly enough to think it can be used in a joke is just disturbing.

The ban is very necessary for what you did. It prevents you during that duration to keep you from being any more offensive. Because if this isn't you trying to be offensive, then I can't see how you're fit for League of Legends in general.
