Why are people so negative in this game?

I was warned about the toxicity in this game, but even with all my experience in gaming, this game is neck-to-neck in terms of toxicity and negativity equal to Call of Duty. I'm barely level 10 and the amount of flaming, trash talking, rage quitting, intentionally feeding, and whining is unbelievable. I'v only played 26 games, 4 of which were bot games and 5 were ARAM games. Taking those out, of the 17 normal blind pick games I've played, only 2 were filled with positivity and those 2 were probably the most fun games to play; one I lost.

I'm relatively new to the community and have opted to just keep silent in game all the time other than pinging and providing information (jungler top, 3 bot, care dragon, build MR, etc. etc.). I've had someone get mad at me just because I said I didn't know if my laner blew their flash or not. Should I continue to go radio silent and not engage in conversation other than to say "gj" and "gg"? I feel like in such a heavily team based game, I'm extremely limited in my communication options and have to choose my words carefully in fear of my team mate raging out and just throwing the game entirely (I haven't done it but 2 of my team mates started duking it out in team chat). Should I play this game as if I were on my own constantly?

Again I'm relatively new and am not sure how to go about the best way to get the most out of my games. What champions should I try to learn and utilize for carry potential in the case that one or more of my team mates just gives up, runs it down mid, or quits the game? Should I focus on burst damage, tanking, sustained damage, split pushing or just all around since every game is different?

In addition, I'm looking for some insight so I know how to better approach the community in game so I don't step on any toes. Why are people so negative in this game and how to reduce that negative during a match so that it not only helps them refocus but also helps me win the match?

P.S. the photo I linked is my first report for a player team mate I reported (a tryndamere) who kept dying to the enemy yasuo top lane. He stopped playing all together around the 7 minute mark and just stayed on the fountain calling everyone the N word and useless piles of human remains. I'm glad to see the justice in this game is working, but I heard there used to be a better system called the tribunal. I looked it up and saw it was still in maintenance, anyone know what's up with that?

honestly not even lying at one point 3 years ago I was so fed up with how toxic the community was I just quit this game for three years

pretty sure i'll take another break soon love the game but man getting in a match where you get int feeders, ragers and so on. wares on you to the point its just better to go play a different game.

I like the reporting system but in some cases it sucks when you lose matches and report and you know nothing is going to get done for a bit of time..

this causes you to feel cheated cause you want that loss back cause you feel as if it was undeserved due to circumstances.

Pre-30 you've got the genuinely new and the people who were banned for being the worst of the worst in the same pool (as well as bots), all of which does make for a terrible experience.

When someone starts being unreasonable mute them. It'll save you a lot of frustration and make that match a lot easier.

It gets better post 30, you're playing with winkers that were banned and had to create new accounts. Mute all and remove the sound effect for pings. Re-add them for when you reach level 30, or just when you play ranked, or just NEVER!

We all play LoL to win so chat will only distract you from your goal. Only use it for game related stuff ( burned summoners, tactics etc ). Never engage someone in chat and never reciprocate.

If you get trolled just let it go. Trolls like attention so ignoring them is your best course.

If you think someone needs to get reported don't beg for reports in chat. Asking for reports is viewed as harrasment and might get you punished ( 1 report=9 reports ). Good luck on the Rift.
