I GOT VERBALLY ABUSED BY A PLAYER IN THE FIRST PLACE AND NOW I GOT A 14-DAY BAN???!!!!!!!!!

Will never play your game again Riot!

At about 10 minutes into the game, after I made a small mistake while roaming and died, a bot lane Varus called me trashcan before I typed any word or even made any signals, and his mate Braum(sup) immediately took his side by agreeing with his toxic comment. But actually I didnt talk back or said anything until like 10 mins later when I went Godlike and started to carry the game. I didn't like the fact that somebody could call me trashcan and got away with it, so I started to flame them back at that moment. And then they got mad, trashtalked me back and stated to report me like I was the guy who flamed them first. I didn't bother to report anybody after game but congratulations to those toxic faultfinders that I wound up get a 14 day ban.

Now I get it, your game allows toxic players to insult gamers who've been minding thier own business, and back those bullies up with your justified judgement.

Now right after that game, my account was told of getting a ban of 14 days and Riot forced me to click "I understand" even though they dont even understand how unfair and stupid they are at managing their own game. It's funny how sombody could call a teammate trashcan and then happily got away with it. Thank you Riot. Even though I loved to play with a lot of friendly gamers who would unconditionally encourage thier mates to play a good game with one another, your game is now seriously fucked up by a lot of those trashtalking faultfinders and I'm gladly quitting this shithouse. Rioters suck and your game sucks! This game's really fucked up!

You flamed them back. At the end of the day, and without any other context, it's rather safe to assume that this isn't the first time you've done something like this. If it is, the severity of the backtalk was enough to warrant an escalated penalty.

That being said, the onus is on you to report problematic behaviour. The fact that you didn't is part of the reason they 'got away with it.' Or at least, for now they may have.

Bans are given based on the player's behaviour in question, regardless of who started it. You openly admit to bullying them back, so that in and of itself is justification for some form of penalty.

And that is why you were punished. Flaming back at another player is never acceptable, even if they started flaming you first. The whole "they started it" doesn't work here. The fact that this was a 14 day ban means that either you have had previous chat restriction punishments or your flaming back involved some zero-tolerance phrases such as hate speech or encouragement of self-harm, which would cause you to skip the chat restriction punishments.

As for them getting away with it, that's pretty much on you. I don't know why you didn't bother reporting the player who was flaming you, but the punishment system operates based on our reports. It will only review a player's behavior if at least 1 person in that game reports them. If no one reports a player, then the system assumes that no one had any problem with that player's behavior, thus not reviewing or punishing that player. Since you didn't report them, the system will not review their behavior, allowing them to avoid potential punishment for that game.

Riot doesn't care, if you say the meaner thing you are screwed. IMO you should be able to say whatever you want. Anyone truly harmed from something someone says on this game shouldn't be on a computer period.

This is why I deeply enjoy the "Nothing ever happens if you report" scenario.

People are dicks, they get reported, then come here or on Reddit to complain about their ban for talking back to someone, without reporting them too, and that person goes scot-free.

Just damn report, and move on, don't put yourself in the position to be reported back at for being unnecessarily toxic.
