As a lot of you are aware, this game is seriously plagued by BOTS Every post I have read says these cant be stopped. For every account banned, 5 open back up.

There is a very SIMPLE fix for this that I have seen in an MMO 15 years ago. (That game would summon a demon who would ask you a math question, you answer your fine, you fail you get -1 karma, at -10 you got banned)

It has to be reworked a little for it to work with LOL, but not by much...

**Introduce a point system along with a captcha style prompt.

Pop up catcha that player has to enter correctly, They have 3 tries. Only pops up when Dead, Death time is over 15 seconds and Only once a game. Failure to enter the correct captcha during that game (doesn't even have to be every game if you want to make it more random) will result in 1 point At a designated set of points (e.g 3) Player is banned and has to appeal for removal of ban. Points will fade away over time so if a player has run for a bio break while dead, they are not looking at getting banned by this system.**

Automated system, Easy to Implement, Drastically improves banning of bots.

If a player then wants to bot, they will have to remain aware at the computer, which just defeats the object

What if I don't speak the language or incapable of answering the question, should i be banned? Also, I tend to alt tab when dead, and browser imgur while waiting, I suppose i'd be banned in those instances as well. Wouldnt deter botting, it didnt in runescape/everquest/whatever mmo you're thinking about

I mean I could understand the point of a captcha and it could help, but then again for the users it could be probmatic. Plus even I'll admit some captcha are hard to see/understand. They can't make it too difficult nor can they make it too easy. Would the captcha be related to the game? If so what would new people do who rarely know anything about the game?

What if I have to take a piss and want to do it while the death timer is rolling?

At a designated set of points (e.g 3) Player is banned and has to appeal for removal of ban.

How exactly would that appeal work? A system as simple as you are suggesting it will either lack in sensitivity or specificity... and from the sounds of it ("botting prevention fix" and "drastically improves banning of bots") you seem to be looking for high sensitivity. A low specificity means there will be a lot of false positives that need to either be consciously ignored or manually handled by employees, partially but not entirely, invalidating the point you make about the system being automated.

So here's the problem that I see with what you are suggesting, because: What's to keep a botter from appealing? At that point that problem of specificity either becomes a PR nightmare (a lot of innocents cannot get their account back because their appeal failed) or it becomes a more complicated sensitivity problem (bots get banned, but get unbanned once they appeal), which is what you wanted to avoid in the first place. The idea of botters appealing their bans also invalidates your point about the system being automated; and this time entirely. If every botter appeals and requires a human to work the case, you might as well have those humans work on tracking down the bots in the first place, which will at least lower the human work required to fix false positives.
