I'd like to reiterate what Frenchy said to you before. Retaliating to negativity with negativity only contributes to it and that's not something we allow or encourage. This means whether you are initiating or retaliating with negativity they both break our terms of use agreement. We did observe you calling out your teammates and criticizing them for their mistakes:

Damn league of legends you got my toxic ass good, really good, i couldnt agree more. This justifies a perma ban meanwhile im being told to suck peoples dicks and fuck my mother and to kill myself. I just could not agree anymore that i deserved this rightful ban. Thats what i call a good strong and not to mention full-proof banning department. Keep up the good work league!!! Stellar comedic performances LOL. Worst part is that i added these people to my friends list who told me to kill myself fuck myself etc. and they are still online today despite being reported.. sorry whoever is running league of legends bans department has clearly been doing an extremely poor job what a complete joke of a game wont be very difficult to quit it for good at this point just thought league should be exposed to the ridiculously pathetic system they have implemented. Yes, as the support agents said, while other players behavior may be inappropriate, it doesn't make your behavior okay. They'll get their punishment, and you'll get yours.

As some others put it... If other people want to roll in the shit, why would you join them? Then there's just more shit being flung around.

I mean, that's not how it works. I know there is a mute function but how is that okay? If someone points a gun at me, I'll point back, if someone shoots and tries to kill me, I'll defend myself. People are different, people have fight or flight responses. If he chose to fight because he feels threatened that's him, he CAN choose to flight but he didn't. Both are okay behaviors imo, if you call someone an asshole because they're being an asshole, that doesn't make you the same as them.

I am sick of this garbage mentality of "It is not okay to defend yourself if you feel threatened" I know there is a mute option, but that is just that, an option. Does that look like he deserves to be banned/chat restricted. No. However, we do only have one side of that conversation, the other guy could have been spewing all sorts of inappropriate language and attacking him, or not. All that said, fight or flight, natural reaction to do one or both of those.

Nobody's pointing a gun at you. You are not at any risk of bodily harm, you are not at risk of any harm. You can mute someone if you don't like what they are saying or if they are being toxic.

Retaliating with toxicity is not defense. Your defense is muting. You are not even threatened by words, so that doesn't even apply.

I hate to break it to you, but YES you ARE being harmed. What if he feels like he is being mentally attacked. yes, you can mute, but not everyone wants to mute right away, maybe he was being passive at first, then it got worse where the guy was acting like an ass, or vice-versa, so he goes ahead and respons accordingly. You ARE threatened by words. People experience social interactions in different ways and anxiety, just because you dont give a shit about what some random guy says doesn't mean he doesn't.

Never tell someone that they were not harmed or have any chance of being harmed. People react differently to different scenarios, he felt harmed, he reacted how he felt at the time.

If you don't want to mute, and you instead choose to retaliate with more toxic behavior, that's your own fault.

You literally are saying "you have a way to defend yourself, but choose not to use it, but it's not your fault you didn't use it".

People are different, people respond to things differently. I will NEVER get behind this mentality, in my opinion he was not being toxic, yet it was deemed toxic. Not everyone insta mutes, some people do insta mute. You choose one way, doesn't mean he will choose the same way. He already dealt with the consequences and it wont be changed. It isn't here for people to say how "bad" of a person he is or saying things like "It aint okay to act like you bro". He acting how he acted, I wont fault him for that, in my honest opinion people need to be more open to critism in this game.

If you want to be a member of a community/society, you must abide by their rules.

Just as how I could go say "I will NEVER get behind murder being illegal" - doesn't mean I get to go around murdering people, does it?

The other broke the rules, those rules were attacking him with words. Self-defense says you can retaliate with equal or lesser force (to a degree). We know not the situation, but your logic is because murder is not okay, it is NEVER okay to take another's life. Even if that life is trying to take yours. People break the law all the time with good reason, now this may not be a GOOD reason (how he acted to defend himself) but it doesn't mean it is INSTANTLY wrong.

Honestly, you need to question things and not just assume because someone said something, it is ALWAYS right.

There is no concept of self defense in League by flaming back. Your self defense is to use the mute button if you don't want to see their chat.

If you cannot accept the rules that the vast majority of the community here wants, you are free to leave and give your time/money to another game.

Stop taking it so offensively. I don't agree with the mentality, not that I don't agree with the rules. its a dumb rule to say anyone who defends themselves a certain way are just as bad as what they defend themselves against.

So, tell me this. If you had a gun pointed at you and you had two options for "self defense" - a button that would instantly teleport that person to their home and take away their gun is option 1. Option 2 is shooting them. Is shooting them still appropriate given a button to completely eliminate all "harm" or "threat" without any harm/threat to anyone else?

The answer is obviously no. When you are given tools to completely remove the "damage" you are defending yourself against, you have no inherent justification for using more extreme methods. Self defense requires you to use only as much "defense" as is necessary - and muting is the least defense necessary, thus anything beyond that is no longer justifiable.

I mean, one may choose to shoot them so they don't harm anyone else. Ignore that for a second, it is more applicable to say they can't hurt YOU but can still steal your car, damage it, and hurt things around you. Muting them doesn't remove them from the game, it just removes them from your chat. Just stop talking about this it legit doesn't matter.

But you flaming back doesn't prevent them from harming anyone else at all. However, you are directly harming others by forcing them to see you flaming them back.

Your idea of proving your point is to run the conversation around constantly until the other person gives up. Yes, flaming doesn't stop them from harming others. That said, your logic earlier was to just teleport them away to potentially do harm to someone else, in your example might as well teleport them to the police and end the story, as in, directly a "report". You are not DIRECTLY harming others if you flame back, you are indirectly harming them. Shooting someone in self defense may indirectly hurt others as well. I am just simply saying, if he attacks the person back, that doesn't make him or anyone, as bad as the person who he is "portraying" he is defending himself how he sees fit.

After all in your example, some people may shoot the person, others may press the button. We never fully know any situation till we have all the available information. To me, that information given is not enough for ME to judge him on anything other than that sucks he got permaed, and I don't think he was being toxic using just that information alone.

in my opinion if someone starts some shit and i reply to it then neither of us should be able to report either one because we both engaged in the "toxicness". And honestly i wasnt aware that calling someone selfish or self-centered was actually being toxic. Being toxic to me anyways was calling someone a moron or idiot or to fuck off - or to go kill themselves. That is what toxic was to me, something along the lines of what i said is actually laughable to be called toxic lets be serious for a second, thats an absolute joke, regardless of what they said any normal person would not consider what i said toxic at all this system is just babied beyond belief the only real saftey you have in this game is to just mute your whole team and to never use chat that sall there is to it. Chat is just an easy way to get people banned because of how pathetic and crybaby this awful system is if you tried to report someone like from better games such as the ones made by blizzard entertainment, if i called someone selfish nothing would happen to me, but if i called someone a jew i would see a 3day ban easily there is a huge difference in severity of course because one is actually toxic and the other one simply is not. To try to justify me never playing this game again over calling someone selfish is just ridiculous regardless i wont be plaything this pathetic game anymore anyways just wanted to shed some light on a extremely outrageously broken system that i know the employees at riot cringed daily they have to stand behind such bullshit (sorry guys). I hope the pay is good. I also heard telling someone to kill themselves was an auto perma ban even if they say kys but in my case he told me to go kill myself and hes on my friends list and hes on right now. Solid riot keep it up!!

I am glad that you two are the only people in the game, and nobody else had to see your toxicity. Oh wait - this wasn't a private message. You were flinging shit, someone else was flinging shit, and 3 (or 8 for all chat) innocent bystanders had to sit there in the middle and get hit with shit.

Insulting players is toxic. That is not anything new - it's common sense. You're free to leave League if you want to insult players. I'm sure most players would prefer you did.

There is nothing in that chat log that should even be considered for a punishment. That is one of the most tame logs I’ve ever seen and this guy got permabanned. Rito is really up to some shit lately and it’s beginning to edge over into some dangerously immature areas. The majority of the permabans I’ve seen recently have been relatively tame. And to add on to what I mean, the average age of a league player is 26, and if a 26 year old community can’t take a few insults then the one who’s doing the reporting should just have their in game chats muted for being a sensitive butterfly.

Keep in mind it's only part of the log - traditionally support won't link more than 15-20 lines at an absolute most unless asked for the full logs - this is to avoid the appearance of just repeating exactly what the player already got in client reform cards.

I'd be curious to see the full log. I mean that bit is technically toxic, but not that bad tbh. Either way he probably just got off a 14 day ban anyway

When people have a permaban isn't either they did something way out of line that it escalated to the top, or they recently had a 14 day ban and pushed it cause they were already on thin ice. So, yeah it was probably just coming off a 14 day.
