[ISSUE] [LEAVEBUSTER] Punishing User for Riots Fault

What Happened?

  • The computer crashed badly, with a blue screen (this happens from time to time, like simple client-hangs or crashes)
  • After 5 to 10 min. I manage to log in again.
  • Game has ended, I get a 5 times low-priority penalty

So, because RIOT GAMES is not able to detect the crash of its own client, it simply assumes that I intentionally left the game.

In essence, RIOT insults me (for being kind of a leaving looser), and punishes me.

VERY VERY BAD USER EXPERIENCE.

You should really fix this.

EXPECTED

Riot detects his own client crashing (e.g. by the technique of a "watchdog" or anything else), and stops insulting players which are already punished by the crash.

If Riot cannot detect client-crashes, then it should at least fix the text-messages given to the user.

"It seems that you left the game intentionally. Thats why we have to place you in a low priority queue for 5 games. We apologize if your leave happened due to technical reasons (crash, power failure or similar)".

Then a client could say: "Ok, it seems to be difficult to differentiate a CRASH from a LEAVE, so I take the penalty. At least they apologize".

You see the difference?

The better User Experience?

You got a blue screen crash, which is NOT Riot's fault. It is YOUR FAULT because it's something wrong with YOUR computer. Riot can't detect when YOUR computer suddenly turns off/crashes. Don't blame Riot for your computer crashing.

Check your computer over, uninstall any unneeded programs, updated any drivers that can be updated if you can, do a virus/malware scan to make sure there's none on your computer. If you're using an "old" computer, try lowering some game settings and not having anything open in the background.

You don't get leaverbusted from one incident. Fix your shit. It's not RIOT, it's you and you inability to fix your shit. If what you say is RIOT's fault is true then we would all be crashing. Ding, ding, we are not all crashing because most of us have enough sense to take care of our shit.

Also NO, this could be abused, people can easily make their computers crash and never get punished.
