Lack Of Toplaners (High Silver / Low Gold)

So, I've noticed a massive increase in the amount of games I get put my secondary role (top). Out of my last 10 games I have been placed top instead of mid 6/10. I'm just curious why so little people are interested in toplane in this elo and tbh I prefer not playing top so I have decided to change my secondary. Has MSI influenced this? I used to get placed top instead of mid around 1/20 games. I don't believe it's because of a huge demand for mid but rather a lack of demand for top. If you used to main top and changed, I would like to find out why! Anyway, back to struggling to climb ranked. Maybe it's because I climbed from low silver to low gold. I can't be certain. GL HF!

It’s a combination of mid being the most popular and top just overall being bad. I stopped playing top because it’s mostly 5-6 meta champs ruling the entire thing, zero balance or changes, and it gets even worse the higher you go

I get top, which is my primary, almost every time so I can't complain :) My secondary is support so out of 400ish games, I got autofilled once. I got jungle and had to dodge. You have some very cancerous champs top and you always see the same champs being picked at my elo: Nasus, Darius (permaban for me), Aatrox, Jax, Garen... Since I play shen, if I get to choose first I often get to lane VS Teemo or Kennen which are pretty annoying to play against (not necessarily hard but just annoying). People think you don't have impact when you play top but I think it's BS. You just need to be more flexible.

I used to main top only playing one of my favorite champs renekton or fiora. However, I've noticed that a majority of the time I will never get any assistance from my jg even if they are at krugs/gromp.

See I dont mind get no help at all, or even if the jg only helps bot. BUT IF IM FUCKING FIGHTING A 2V1 FOR A MAJORITY OF THE GAME GOING EVEN/BIT BEHIND I EXPECT YOU TO WIN BOT AND GET DRAKES. The amount of times ive lost because my jg refuses to gank my lane even tho I'm pushed to tower and rather help bot lane but bot lane still loses is insane.

That is why I switched to support but in now being auto filled to adc/top cause of all the yummi support players.

Overall top lane is usually a coin flip either you win or lose it also depends on whose jg wants to gank top rather then bot
