So can we talk about the ridiculous amount of bots there are "playing" league..?

Since i created this account ive been lucky to get maybe 2 games without a single bot. Last game, my entire team was bots... Is there really nothing that can be done about this? Trying to play ARAM just makes it even worse, wait 10 minutes for an ARAM match just for it to be filled with bots and get stomped by a team of actual people. Its almost painful to play normal sum rift at this level because of all the smurfs, bots, and extremely toxic players that had been recently banned. So instead of good ol sum rift i swapped to ARAM games and i just find it insane how many bots there are, can Riot not tell when there is a bot in a game? Starting to live up to my name i guess eh, Tilted... :D

i played aram yesterday with 4 bots on my team and 2 on the other team. its pretty bad.

i bet you there are thousands of games being played right now with no human in them at all. just 5v5 bots grinding up levels and IP so they can be sold.

No Riot hates it because the fact that there are bots is something that could drive away real players, cutting into Riot's profits.

Well Riot sure isn't doing anything about it, I've been reading complaints and writing complaints about it on here since I was sub-30 months ago, and it extends even further into the past (people mentioning dominion, which was over a year ago!). They ignore bot complaint threads, and aren't even trying to stop them; putting a captcha in front of queues for sub-30s would be a trivial task. It's very obvious Riot either likes bots or doesn't give a shit.

The bots occasionally become players when someone buys the account, and like I said, the bots and 10-bot games they play are probably being recorded by Riot and shown to advertisers/investors as actual unique players and games played. Another reason Riot might be allowing them is the queue time reduction from bots is helping alleviate the long low level queue times one would expect from a game like LoL that has peaked and is slowly bleeding out. It seems to me long queues could drive away new players as well, maybe faster than rampant botting.

They're constantly making modifications to the IFS to better detect bots. It bans bots; why do you think it doesn't? People get angry when they see bots and they'll make complaint threads about it, but that does not mean that Riot isn't going after bots. Some bots are just slipping through Riot's system, so Riot needs you to report these bots so that they can keep improving their software.

They aren't ignoring them, they just don't have much to say on the topic. The system isn't perfect but it's doing its best to stop botting, and player reports help it out a ton.

Long queues could drive new players away but bots would drive them away faster. If you want, you can make a poll on the Boards right now: "Would you rather play with long queue times or bots?" Riot knows that a vast majority of players would rather play with actual people, so they are actively banning bot accounts. Yes they are going to use the bot accounts in player statistics, but the amount of bot accounts compared to actual players will be very low. There aren't that many bots, and they're mostly confined to the pre-thirty levels. That tiny amount of extra players is not worth it to Riot when those bots could be driving away real players who are the ones actually keeping the game alive.

I have never in my 4 years of league seen the bots you describe. I might have run into an aimbot or 2 but I might have just thought they were good players, but I have never seen an ip farm bot.

Nobody responded. I thought that maybe they didn't feel like chatting. As the game progressed, I noticed that other players began acting very strange. I had the highest CS by far. An enemy came with in range and I was ready to rumble. The enemy auto'd me. I threw out my spell rotation. The enemy didn't move. Continued to auto me. I then slain him.

"Frozen" one of my allies uttered.

I thought it was weird but continued to play. I got a few more kills and sieged the turret. All the while my allies occasionally saying a single random word. I then thought about the weirdness of the game. That nobody was using their abilities. They just marched toward the enemy base, autoing anything in their way. It was then that I realized I was the only real player. I spent the next 15 minutes in pretty much a farming simulator. Dead zombie champions roamed around. I was all alone.

To this day, I refuse to play 3v3 twisted treeline.

The vast majority are sub-30 and/or have very low MMRs in the queues they play (they aren't good bots, that's why people complain), so it is very unlikely for matchmaking to place you with one after playing for 4 years.

I wrote about this before, I even have a video I made on how they behave. Aram in early levels is crowded with bots, just like dominion was (and I still believe that it was the main reason it was shut, not like Riot says "It wasn't popular"). When you get to higher levels you see the bot count decreasing. Maybe the system is actually banning them (Well at least 10% of them) but it doesn't track pattern or anything, maybe it depends solely on reports and you can't just get someone banned by reporting a single time.

I notice a pattern in a large majority of them, usually i can tell either by the name or by the very beginning of the game. Alot of them instantly buy and bunch up on the T1 tower in the same exact spot.. and its honestly entirely too much to report every single one of them especially knowing nothing is going to happen as a result of your singlular report. The enemy team obviously doesnt care as long as theyre winning, so the majority of times they wont report them either.

i think the reason you dont see them as much as you level is because your mmr rises and their mmr lowers to the very bottom. at that point you will never be matched up with them. they will only be playing other bots and maybe the very worst players.

The account gets sold once it hits 30, so there's not really a reason for it to keep playing unless it needs more IP to promise the buyer.

Seems unlikely. It'd require that both a) Riot naively believed the bots would disappear with Dominion's removal rather than simply migrating over to another mode and b) Riot entirely forgot that bots didn't start flooding PvP and Co-op queues until Riot drove the bots out of custom games.

I'ma stop you there, because it's blatantly untrue. One report is all it takes to flag a game, and blatant, serious violations (such as scripting, hacking, or hate-speech) can be grounds for instant, serious escalation.

I know right, what the hell is going on. I mostly play Co-op vs AI because of my anxiety and there is at least one bot in everything game, just running it down mid. gotta love playing against a 25/0 teemo. Like seriously is so infuriating to play with.

There's a 25/0 teemo AI that goes un-farmed....? I find this very hard to believe unless you are the ONLY human player in that game....

I would actually enjoy someone continuously refreshing or increase the AI kill bounty in a co-op vs AI game

NO WAY Well, not so much :P But you can see games with at least 1 or 2 people that just go mid and start feeding the enemy laner. And they always start boots, don't follow any build path, and ignore everything.

I seen my first bot yesterday when me and my Cuzin made new accounts. 2 of our 5 were bots they went in lane sat there then tele back and sat in the base for the rest of the game...

I've been running into some bots now and then. Primarily in TT (everyone's a bot in that) and coop matches. I've been reporting them every time, and I've been seeing less and less.

Yeah, I was level 9 once, and hoo boy, do bots ruin aram or what... What i notice is that bots have similar behavior, so a bunch of if's it looks unnatural (e.g) idles at nexus for 5 seconds before moving.... could screw it up.
