Trolls not getting banned

I'd like to call on Riot to do better about the fairness of their LP system. I don't think I should be punished when I'm being sportmanlike and trying to win and progress up the ladder just because I happen to be sorted with someone who gets their jollies out of making "Bronzers" lose and stay in Bronze. I've lost LP; I've lost series games; I've been demoted - all because someone wants to troll, feed, what have you. Most recently, I had the great misfortune of being sorted with a player named "<Removed By Moderation>". He played Singed top lane, proxied, and went 0/15/1, feeding Camille the entire time. After the game, he boasted about how this was his "drunk/high account", and that he purposefully plays ranked because "that's where the fun is". I reported him, but I have no idea what - if anything - will happen. He, on the other hand, was secure in the knowledge that nothing will happen to him. Considering that he seems to do this quite a bit, he's probably right.

Now I love this game. I'm addicted to it. I rarely even play my consoles anymore and pretty much exclusively play League. I don't even want to think about the amount of money I've spent on skins. But it feels like I'm not valued as a player/customer when I encounter people like this who are allowed to troll their teammates and get away with it. Isn't there anything that can be done? Is there a way to track your reports so you can know what, if anything, is done to the player? I don't even really care if the guy is banned outright, as long as he can't play ranked and sabotage people who are trying to get better. Because this is **FAR **from the first time this has happened to me, such that I feel like Riot really doesn't care about people trying to climb. Surely something can be done!

I feel you, I reported, and opened a support ticket on a troll. He's actually a really good player, but tanked this account.. he said and I quote, " because getting to BV is hard".

That was two days ago and I see he just finished a game 2 hours ago. I can see ho detecting them might be hard. However, if someone opens a support ticket telling you the game and chat and you still don't research it... I would say you have a bad system.

I mean I would love if at my job someone came to me, offered up all the evidence for an issue and all it required me to do was a minimal amount of research.

To be clear, I don't necessarily blame the people handling the tickets. I worked on a help desk and everything is about closure time and amount of tickets closed. Unfortunately at that job, if a case required a little bit of research I still had to identify the issue and solve it. It would have been nice to just close the ticket with a little, "Sorry you had a bad time, I'll look into it..:Close ticket:"

I mean I would love for Riot Tantram to look at the game I sent in. He could probably watch from champ select to 10 mins in, hell he could check out his NCAA bracket while he did it. Then he can explain in general terms how it falls out of punishable behavior. It would be interesting to see Riot's perspective and might explain why this seems to go on unpunished.

Just an update: Dude just finished another game... currently w/l kda on non troll champs.

Zilean 5-0 133:1 kda Kassadin 4-0 55.5:1 kda Kha'zix 5-0 32.5:1 kda

And his go to troll pick Soraka 19-65 1.09-1 kda

Maybe je just doesn't play support? Sona 5-0 10.63:1 kda Thresh 3-0 16.25:1 kda

Accounts that do that continually tend to get banned pretty fast, actually. The ones that do it erratically get away with it more often.

if they que up with 2 or 3 other trolls, they win. solo trolls get banned. troll party bans innocent players with troll reports

Reports dont get people banned, no matter how many. People choosing to behave badly gets them banned.

The trolls win because people are stupid and let them win.

Yes, they admitted to the fact that nobody will ever get banned by reports - the system needs to detect unallowed behavior for their to be any punishment, and anything beyond a chat restriction is always verified by a human.

Lol, their human verification system is rather pathetic. I would have to assume that it is either manned by people making minimum wage so they are just doing enough to get the check... Or they are under orders to prioritize other things.

I would LOVE Riot T to grace the thread and tell me why player x is still playing... since I was under the impression trolling was straight 14.

It is not.

Trolling is pretty vague, 90% of what people think is "trolling" is just perfectly normal play that offends their self-centered, touchy feelings.

Even when it actually is trolling, it can be hard to determine even for a human with experience in the game - who is looking at it objectively and calmly.

... I'm aware of that. I am also aware that many people will say inting or feeding when it is a bad game.

I'm not aware of someone locking jungle soraka with smite, then refusing to jungle saying they only top and mid. Then standing under the turrent the entire game.. saying things like "it is weird I only lag when I play soraka d:"... Then you check out their history and there a bunchhh of loses as soraka with smite combined with games with 30+ kda on numerous other champs.

Like I said, when you are given the information to confirm trolling and you take no action it is one of the two instances I mentioned above.... either untrained staff/unmotivated staff or leadership has told them it isnt to be prioritized.

Likewise, you have a number of instances of people with 100+ games with a 0% win rate and 100+ games with almost a 100% win rate..... who were only banned after numerous youtube videos and reddit threads.

Are you telling me that they weren't reported enough in those 100+ troll games? Let's leave the love of the game and the company out of it and look at it objectively.

The system really cant determine things that abstract, it requires human review.

It also cant determine who is trolling and who is just reacting to trolling by changing position, in some cases.

And it also cant tell the different between lane swaps agreed by the team and people refusing to play the right lane.

I'm aware of that too, which is why I opened a support ticket on top of reporting. A support ticket goes to an actual human, a human who either has access to review game, or can forward it to those that do. Riot T or more than one occasion had mentioned viewing games and seeing someone trolling i.e. following jungler and taking camps, afking under turrents, and pre/post game chat.

I went to submit a support ticket and it said I had to log in to do so, but I was already logged in. So that appears to not be an option for some reason.

I think the support system might be a little funky right now. I tried to view my ticket so I could report back here what it said and it wouldn't let me login.

It seems there's a bug that's messing with the transition from the League of Legends website (this one) to their support website (that one). The way to get around this is by signing out of this site and then logging in to their Support Website after you've done so.

Typically those get binned, due to the huge volume of whiney crymail riot support gets.

Maybe in future they will have enough support staff to have people take 5-10 minutes to review each investigation or punishment request, but right now they only do it in very special cases, unless the automated system flags a possible case.

Which would mean that I would be correct, that it is the latter. They are supervised to not investigate these claims. So it would be fair to say that currently they have no interest in combating it. I think I would have a lot more respect for them if they said they didnt have the staff to devote 10 to 15 mins to trolling behavior. Well respect in terms of open honesty, maybe not so much for their ticket based system.

They do say that, the whole system is pretty open. People just never actually read the annual posts about player behavior and moderation and circlejerk dumb myths about riot hating them.

... they don't say that. Was just able to get into the ticket (thanks mod). It says, "We punish intentional troll behavior a lot harder since we know you can't just mute it." Then for shit and giggles he (or she) added "I assure you from personal experience, that this system does work."

It does work, just erratically. Riot also has a slightly more lax opinion of trolling that most players.

And yes, they do punish it harder: straight bans instead of restrictions - if they can catch it.

All the little tyler1 wannabes that came here screaming to protest their bans for silently running down lane while playing draven are pretty good examples.

You keep saying if they catch it and I am talking about an instance where a support ticket is opened. I understand their detection still needs work in that regard. I am talking about a support ticket, direct line to a direct human. There is nothing to "catch", there is only review and then decision. Lol, I would have loved to have been able to tell my boss... "yeah that problem was brought to my attention via ticket #xxxxxxx, but you know, things are erratic. Likewise, I probably would have been laughed out of the building if I followed that with, "but it works".

Just make a post about how the balance team should be assigned to reading tickets, looking up game logs and analyzing them to find trolls, in order to increase manpower. You obviously dont want to deal with the reality of it.

Are you insinuating that a forum post will get more attention then a direct support ticket? Plus, my argument isn't that the resources aren't there, or that the employees are incapable of identifying trollung. My argument is that it is so low on the scale of importance that, even with a ticket and complete information, it isn't worked.

Ehh... on the topic of proxy Singed, they kind of ARE supposed to feed. By doing so properly, they end up taking alot of time from the enemy Top, Jg and maybe even mid. During those times, you are supposed to apply pressure elsewhere and get objectives.

One can be feeding 0/15/1 but if you are able to mow down a lane down to inhibs because of the pressure he caused, then it's a win for your team.

You need to know how to play around a proxy Singed. It's a very different strategy than the standard laning strategy, but it is super frustrating for the enemy team to counter if done properly.

Also, the game directly after this one, I got placed in bot lane, so I chose Jinx. My "support" went Xerath with smite and ghost. He proceeded to leave me to lane alone against Graves and Thresh while he laned mid for a bit and then ganked top. It's no surprise that I didn't fair well, so then he starts gaslighting me for being behind when he wasn't doing what he was supposed to. There were other issues as well, but we might have been able to deal with them if he hadn't trolled.
