"Words Hurt" -How Riot Reacts to Rude Language

Toxicity is, and will always be apart of League of Legends. Though you can't get rid of it entirely, you can simply stop from seeing it. It's called a "mute" button, you can find one for each player just by hitting tab in game. And just like that, no more toxic teammates. Although this is a very simple and effective solution, Riot still thinks it is necessary to BAN people for saying "hurtful things". Riot will even BAN someone from the game indefinitely, such as Tyler1 , for saying "mean" or "hurtful" words. Did you tell your Jungler that they are terrible at the game and should uninstall because you got angry that he hasn't ganked once in over 15 minutes? Guess what, permanently banned. Even though your Jungler could just mute you, and resume playing the game, you lost your account. The best part however, is that while there is an easy way to stop hearing rude comments a player is saying, there is no way to avoid a Troll game. There are 2 major reasons a person would say something rude to another player, either that player is doing poorly, or he/she is trolling. While in game, I can mute my ADC the second he starts flaming me, but in Champion select I have to watch in horror while some assholes call duo top AND jungle. Leaving me Bottom Lane 2v1. Whats so great? There's nothing I can do about it. If I see these 3 jerks trolling in champion select, I cant dodge the queue or else I'LL be punished for THEIR bullshit. What the heck Riot. This is why people flame others. They don't get any penalty for ruining upwards of 20 minutes of my life, but me saying words will make my account inaccessible to me. Words are just that, words, and no one should be permanently banned, and especially not have any new accounts made be banned also, just because the same person made it. Put simply, you SHOULD NOT be banned for talking shit in a video game. You SHOULD be banned for ruining the game for everyone else on your team. This isn't Elementary School, we are allowed to say what we want, and if someone doesn't want to hear it, they have the "mute" button.

Put simply: The mute button isn't an excuse to be an asshole and being negative is ruining the game for your team.

Ah yes, the old confusion. It is not called "adult language" because that is how adults speak. It is called "adult language" because it takes a certain degree of maturity to understand the contexts in which it is appropriate to use it.

There is no adult context in which NerdRaging is considered acceptable behavior.

talking shit is one of the best things riot has to offer in this game
