Riot Support

This is my chatting with a riot supporter, He's a good guy and stuff, I don't think he understood the message I was trying to convey. I had a jax jungler who came mid and sat in the brush as I died, Enemy laner had no summs. Immediately proceeding my death, the jax spam pinged me and called me a derogatory name affiliated with one who has a mental disability. After his hurling of insults, I calmly told him what he could have done to prevent my death against the enemy Diana. Further into the game, he never came to my lane until I died to take my cs from me. I asked him to stop taking my cs and he said " im stealing it so you dont get experience or gold" which is obviously trolling. I told him I would report him and that's about the only verbal abuse I committed.

Mr. Feeny Customer support KinkerBellaHey recently, I had a game with a Jax who was very toxic and flamed me almost the entire game, whether it was verbal abuse or spam pinging me in my lane and around me. I did my best and tried to stay calm, but I let him know I was going to report him after the game. I refrained from any and all verbal abuse the entire game. The only thing I said to be considered mean was "best jungler". The game soon ends and I report him after the game. Then in the next game, I have a 25 game chat restrictions! It sent me my chat logs and I wasn't verbally abusing anyone! Please help! Chat started Player Support BotHey! We’re getting a ton of new chats right now. It may take upwards of 7 minutes to get to your chat, but if you sit tight we’ll help you out as soon as we can. If you’re not about that waiting in line lifestyle, you can always submit a ticket instead! Mr. Feeny joined the chat Mr. FeenyHi there Bella Gimmie a hot minute to check out whats going on here KinkerBellaOkay! I can copy and paste my side of the chat if needed. Mr. FeenyAll good, I can check it out for ya 1 min as i review your account KinkerBellaOkie Dokie Mr. FeenySo, usually when I'm reviewing chat logs and I'm determining whether something is negative or not, I try and put myself in the other player's shoes. KinkerBellaUnderstandable, Mr. FeenyIn this case, there were many instances of yourself calling out your jungler for his poor behavior Doing so really puts a damper on your teams moral To develop a poor playing environment for others to be a part of KinkerBellaI feel like I was just telling him what went wrong in his gank, mid had no summs as he sat in the bush while I died Mr. FeenyThis is the key reason as to why this 25 has been applied to your account KinkerBellaSo what category was I reported under? I wasn't verbally abusing him.. Mr. FeenyIn this case, it is considered verbally abusing. Though it is lighter than other player's cases. Adimittedly This is the expected penalty to be applied to your account I do want to make a note that the next escalation of penalty is a 2-week suspension. Just so you're aware of the proper escalation of penalization, let me lay it out here for you. 10-game chat restriction > 25-game chat restriction > 2-week suspension > Permanent suspension I'm not worried about it for you in particular But I wanted to make that clear. KinkerBellaOkay thank you, wow that's an escalation, chat restrictions to a 2 week ban? harsh lol. Okay but why is me saying what went wrong in the gank verbal abuse? He proceeded to flame me for being bad and I was just telling him he couldv'e killed the enemy diana. Mr. FeenySo, the thing about talking about past mistakes is that you cant really do much to fix it. It's really best to move on from it and work with what you can do right now or in the future KinkerBellaI realize that but I don't feel like I should've been penalized in the first place, did you see the way he was talking to me the entire game? He literally said he was taking my cs because he intentionally wanted to steal the cs from me, which is intentionally putting the team behind and losing team morale. Mr. FeenyI'm not able to speak of other player's accounts for privacy and security reasons and that each penalty issued out is on a case by case basis. What I will say is that it's likely that players will receive a penalty accordingly, if their chat or gameplay correlates to the report given. KinkerBellaI asked him to stop, is that considered verbal abuse? I can't do anything in this situation. Mr. FeenyAs much as we'd like our IFS (Instant Feedback System) to take things into context, it doesn't and it reacts to how you've responded to other players solely Your best move is to mute them. Simply don't interact with players that dont' intend to cooperate. KinkerBellaSo nobody actually looks at the text logs and determines punishment? What if i was quoting someone on my team like i was when i was telling the enemy team how toxic my jax was when he called me a "retard". WIll the IFS just give me chat restrictions because I was quoting him? Mr. FeenyUnfortunately yes, but if you did not have malicious intent and is penalized for it. Please do write into us to have that taken care of. I do need to say Please do not reiterate other player's poor taste in language. I wouldn't want you to be put into that situation. KinkerBellaI understand. what do you mean write into us to have that taken care of? Mr. FeenyEither use this live chat, or write in a ticket to have us look over the chat. KinkerBellaThis would remove my restrictions? Mr. FeenyNot chat restrictions no I should be more clear So Racial slurs, hate speech, and wishing harm upon others are part of our zero-tolerance policy and we do not want players to use them no matter the context given and will immediately result in a 2-week suspension. If you happen to reiterate any of those words/terms without malicious intent, you can write into us to have your 2-week suspension appealed. Chat restrictions, almost never are reduced/removed. KinkerBellaThat's unfortunate, Looking at my chat logs given to me in the client puts the argument between the jax and I way out of context. It looks like I was actually flaming him and being verbally abusive. But if the full chat log were to be released, I wasn't flaming or being verbally abusive. Why don't I have full access to the chat logs to better defend myself in this situation? Mr. FeenyDue to privacy and security reasons, we do not show other player's chat. It is important that players are focused on themselves when issued out a penalty. Other players can really break the experience of playing league but it's our choice to respond to them in the way we choose. In most cases, as much as our ego wants to tell a player off, it's best to take the higher road and let them be. Sometimes the best thing said is nothing at all, know what I mean? KinkerBellaI understand that. I wasn't telling him off, I was explaining to him what happened wrong in my lane when after my first death he spam pinged me and called me names I shall not mention. An explanation as to how he could've potentially played the call better doesn't really warrant chat restrictions. Mr. FeenyI hear ya on that, but this player did take offense to it. :
in a competitive environment Calling out another player's sub-optimal play can hit people personally and to then become annoying. For them It's similar to being coached at something when you don't want to be. KinkerBellaI understand that, as people have done that for me, trying to help me out by telling me how I could've played better and it made me angry. But I wasn't trying to bash him in any way when I was trying to explain to him how best to help me defeat the enemy laner, which I mean, really wasn't offensive. And I get that in a competitive game tensions are heightened, but my comment shouldn't be viewed as anything but constructive. Mr. FeenyRight, you have good intentions, but as you mentioned. These sorts of environments can really have us take things in ways we usually wouldnt. KinkerBellaSo, in that regard, I was chat restricted due to a misunderstanding? My intentions were only to help him. And really, I actually took offense to many of his derogative comments that were well due to intentionally put me in a bad mindset. My comment to him based on his POV shouldn't be considered in his mindset but rather mine, as I am the one who rightly determined my intent on the comment/ Mr. FeenyAmong other instances of arguing with your teammate(s), yes. KinkerBellaSo that would mean this instance would warrant a chat restriction, correct? Mr. FeenyTo put it bluntly, yes. KinkerBellaWhy Mr. FeenyFor arguing with other players mostly I don't mean to be blunt, but if there are no other concerns, I will need to close this live chat. KinkerBellaI was only arguing with the Jax Who else was I arguing with? Mr. FeenyJust the Jax KinkerBellaSo then there shouldn't be an S on the end of players Mr. FeenyMy mistake,. KinkerBellaAnd like I said, I only was constructively criticizing him, which the chat logs would show if it didn't pull it out of context, which would be the entire chat log of that game. The real reason I was chat restricted was because someone misread my intentions with my comments. Which wouldn't warrant a chat restriction if someone (a real human)with full access to chat logs would be able to determine that I wasn't deserving of a penalty This is almost basically saying I can take any comment out of context and twist it to make me the victim of a mean, verbal abuser. Mr. FeenyYour chat restriction will not be removed and If there are no other concerns, I will now close this live chat. KinkerBellaHave a good night

Hard to judge fully without the chat log but your interaction with the player support is extremely mind numbing and frustrating. I agree with a lot of what he said along the lines of it's better to mute and so on but even he agreed that you really weren't toxic especially when he said that he wasn't worried about you escalating to a 2 week ban.

"Chat restrictions, almost never are reduced/removed." <--- This in particular seems borderline incompetent. If the player was punished incorrectly than the punishment should be removed because not only is it wrong to punish the player in the first place; but you also jeopardize the player's account and take away it's chances to go through the proper punishment channels.

It seems like the support employee was clearly following his SOPs to the letter, which means that those should be changed accordingly.
