Just mute the trolls to avoid bans? Nahhhh maybe you should fix your system

I literally got banned because I got tilted on some kid who was intentionally throwing the game. The kid calls JG, makes fun of our teammate for calling ADC, and i asked him why he was being a douche? Then he doesn't get smite, doesn't gank any lanes, and says he isn't even trying XD. Our whole team got tilted, not just me, but somehow I'm the only one who ends up with a ban, and some guys even told him to kys?!

Player suport then told me that next time I need to just mute the person and try my best. Try my best!? How are you supposed to just mute someone and ignore the fact that all they did was come in there and intentionally lose the game, and then troll everyone in the chat into getting tilted. He legitimately had over 3 reports guarenteed on him, but his one report on me gets me banned?

I get when you are tilted at someone for being new, but when someone intentionally tries to ruin your game, you shouldn't be punished for going off on them. If anything they should be the ones with the ban.

The whole ban system in LoL is flawed. I've never been banned for comms in any other game i've ever played until this one. I literally only learned from this ban that trolls always win, no matter what you do. If they troll you, you're supposed to just sit there, not leave (because you'll get a bs suspension if you leave, even if you have a troll on your team), and waste 40-60 minutes of your time getting a loss. But if you say anything to him, you not only get a loss, but you get banned on top of that? Wow, thanks Riot, you really taught me a lesson.

Fix your banhammer system, or anything honestly. It's too easy to get matched up with people like this that are intentionally trying to get people unhinged. I shouldn't get banned because some troll decided he was going to ruin some people's nights.

There needs to be something you can do to get a troll off your team other than muting him and wasting an hour of your time. It's not fair to the people that actually come and want to play the game the right way. Now I have to wait two weeks to play, because i told some troll to f off. I don't feel bad for it, i'd do it again honestly, so fix your system Riot, because your ban system is soooooooooo flawed it ridiculous.

Other players misbehavior does not excuse yours. If you were banned for being toxic in retaliation or to "give them what they deserve", then the system was working fine and you were in the wrong.

If you think your chat logs did not merit a punishment, please post them and prove as much.

If I 'mute' the troll, will he stop solo flash/ ulting into the jungle, coming to my lane to give kills (and buffs), always solo so the game is lost because 5 > 4?

If I report the troll the 'working as intended' system will do nothing since his chat log displays nothing suspicious, heck ...he even dares to call 'gg wp' at the end of the game

Chat logs? Not everything that is ban-able is from chat logs. Do you know know how the reporting works? Your supposed to describe his behavior, they don't only check chat logs, they also check the game replay if you describe the behavior. If your sending blank reports, it's no wonder they get away with it.

It's actually more likely they would stop compared to insulting them. If they are trolls, insulting them lets them know that they are getting a reaction out of you and that they should keep it up. To a troll, no reaction is boring and may not be worth risking the account to troll for zero enjoyment.

If they aren't a troll (and only perceived to be a troll by you), insulting them leads to nothing good. They might even really start trolling if you piss them off enough.

Did you read the "if" at the beginning of that sentence?

If the OP did what they're claiming to have done, the system was working as intended and as the community wants it to work. There is a very small (yet obviously very vocal) minority who think "he started it" should be a valid excuse. The vast majority of the community thinks "he started it" is not and should not be a valid excuse for toxicity - in fact, most of the community thinks there is no excuse for toxicity.

If your definition of 'working as intended' is having 50% chance of wasting one hour worth a match because someone decides to ruin the game for whatever reason and more, it gets out unpunished (because it is 'hard' to identify a troll) and no one is allowed to tell it what piece of **** it is, then fine: you are delusional.

I guess you should start hunting down those trolls and punish them severely. It's funny how they ruin games and at the end they call 'gg wp' and stuff like that just to seem clean.

The system is how it is because the majority wants it that way. Riot bases the system off of what players want as measured through reports, surveys, boards posts, prior tribunal cases... etc.

To be quite honest, it's not hard to identify someone who looks like they might be trolling. It is hard to prove that they were intentionally doing what they were doing to troll. Actions =/= intent - they are not the same thing.

Noone said they would not get punished, it's not your job to 'punish' the trolls by retaliating in toxic format, being toxic to a troll is not a valid way of doing things and is ban worthy. Shut up, report them, and they'll be the only one to get the ban, you can't say that 'all i did was tell him x' or "but he was doing x' and say that it wasn't deserved for you to get the ban, because retaliating and throwing flame back to the troll is still you being toxic too, and as far as you know they might of also gotten banned. The correct thing is to mute them, and report them at the end of the game while providing a detailed description of the trolling. I have gotten so many notifications from my reports resulting in a punishment. It's so much easier than feeding the flamer and risking getting banned your self because you decided to also be a dick. Retaliatory toxicity is still toxicity, and riots policy is toxicity is toxicity, it doesn't matter if one person said something worse, they consider ALL negative behavior that could bring someone down 'toxic'
