Banned for following ToS?
About three weeks ago, my account got somehow compromised. Honestly not sure how it happened, since my computer is clean, and I've never given anyone my login info, nor have I ever played League on anything other than my home computer. Someone else had logged into my account, scraped all my Hextech Crafting stuff, and played a couple games of Hexakill.
So I immediately sent in a support ticket to help get everything back; a couple days later, I got a response, and we sorted everything out. Fast forward a couple weeks, and I get an email saying I'm now permabanned for hacking. Strange, since the only "third party" program I've ever used with League is Curse Voice, which is hardly hack material. I figured it must have been the person that got into my account those few weeks ago. After all, why would I risk hacking? I've invested years and hundreds of dollars into the game. I have little to gain and everything to lose.
So yet again, I send in a ticket, and the response is essentially "you're a hacker, GTFO." It's extremely disheartening to be treated like this, considering I know for a fact that I've never hacked. Plus, I followed the Terms of Service to the letter, particularly this last bit:
"Terms of Service
III. ACCOUNT INFORMATION
C. Login Credentials. In creating an Account, you will be required to select a unique username and password (collectively, “Login Credentials”), which you will use each time you access the Game. You may not share your Account with anyone other than as expressly set forth herein, and you are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Login Credentials and for any and all activities (including purchases and charges, as applicable) that are conducted through your Account. Please notify Riot Games immediately if you become aware of any breach of security, including any loss, theft or unauthorized disclosure of your Login Credentials."
I contacted Riot immediately, got everything resolved, and then was banned anyway a couple weeks later. I can't help but feel like this is a mistake in the system. Anybody else have experience with this situation? I really hate the thought of losing one of my favorite games, and all the friends I've made on it.
Edit: Oops, I may have posted this in the wrong forum. Is there a way to move this, if need be? >.<
