Was approached by someone wanting my account

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. I was approached by someone around 5am pacific time, commenting on my status as a player, then stating they wanted my account. I do not know if they had wanted to buy it, no such offer was made. Even if there had been, I would not do it. Sadly I did not get a screen shot of the conversation, (I thought of it too late), but I have been playing for over 2 years and have never had such a thing happen. Due to how sudden, and weird, it was I immediately banned him, then changed my password. I do not know if they broke any rules, but considering this is a free game to play, I do not see the reasoning behind it. If they did, any Riot members that read this; I have their name, but will not post it here. Thank you for your time.
