Should I just stay a toxic player?

I've been known to be toxic occasionally. Life happens and I get stressed out and sometimes I take it out on the players around me verbally. This isn't a once in a while thing, its a very rare thing. But the way this honor system works, if I get in trouble within 6 months of the season ending, I cannot play enough to get my honor back to level 2 and reap my rewards. So, I played up until September and did just fine. A normal League player and did my part. But then, in a toxic game with other toxic players, I got verbal, was muted, and now I stand no chance at getting any Season rewards. Why not just stay a toxic player? Why should I refrain myself from being verbal to other players when there is no longer any benefit at all if I don't? Why doesn't Riot see a problem with their honor system??

I'm not saying that I will be toxic because of this, I'm just saying that you're going to have people with this mentality out there. You've taken away anything that was formerly holding them back and show that they stand no chance at reaping rewards. Why can't the penalty be judged instead of just an automatic reset? Maybe it was a first time offense and the guy wasn't that bad, maybe just set him back 6-8 checkpoints. Doesn't make sense that you can send somebody honor level 5 all the way to 0 for 1 offense.

Rant over.

Well it's your choice to stay toxic or reform. If people really want to be toxic after getting punished once, go for it. Just let them know they will get permabanned if they continue it. If you can't get season rewards this year, work hard to get to honor 2 so you can get the ranked rewards next year. If you choose to stay toxic because you don't get this years rewards, then let them, they will get banned eventually.

Its okay to stay verbally toxic if you don't mind getting punished

Honor level has been ambiguous and vague for most of the players, and there are lots of players who are not getting rewards because they got the very first chat restriction ever including myself. Since it's a team game and If someone is trolling and the rest are trying to win, it is extremely stupid we cannot even say anything. If someone is having a bad game but still trying, most of us would not be toxic because we all have bad games. But if someone refuses to communicate and play alone, then there is a problem and the person needs to be punished instead of the ones that are being toxic trying to win. It isn't fair compared to any of the previous years where players with chat restriction will still get the rewards, and it isn't fair that players who got banned or got chat restriction twice earlier the season can still get the rewards because they simply had time to show improvements. It is not the players' problem to know how long it takes from honor level 1 to honor level 2 if their honor level has been been below 2, and instead sitting at 4 or 5 before the very first chat warning. Riot simply made me to decide to be a troll with my second account while my stat looks like I am trying, but refusing to communicate and report whoever says anything offensive to me. Trust me, there are many more players who are literally missing the rewards for the first time because of this drastic changes they made without enough explanations, and there will be more trolls next season. This applies to other region servers, not only NA and there have been lots of posts about how unfair this system is compared to how Riot has been punishing trolls and AFKs. And I am more than happy to drag other players in gold tier down so that they miss their rewards on another account with such an unfair management like this.

sure, until you cannot be anymore and not of your own choice. I think that would suck quite a bit. for you.

Apparently people are seeing this as a whining post. I'm saying that there is an obvious need for reform. I truly believe that toxic players need to be punished. But the fact that a first time offense is being stripped of all rewards for 6 months is absolutely horrendous and needs to be re-evaluated. If you don't believe there's a problem in that, then just wait until somebody reports you for one comment like "ezpz" or "get better" and you lose your honor. Yes, it's as simple as one little comment like that, not constant and horrendous toxicity. This system is broken.

Oooof... when your only motivation to not be a dick over a stupid game is a reward... damn.
