Got banned for the first time 14 day because of team

** Here is the story**

game 1: trundle jungle ask top (teemo) to help him start red but teemo didnt respond and our jungle decided to go farm top, teemo said if he dont leave his lane he will afk which he did afk after trundle farm top lane instead of just smite red alone so i flame jungle for making top afk we lost 4v5 game.

game 2: i picked grave top but mid wanna swap, i had a lot of bad game mid recently so i said i cant mid... with no ganks i got out played by yasuo and mid decided to shit talk me about i didn't swap with him and why i picked grave top... riot expected me to not say a word if someone constantly harassing me.

game 3: i was playing kata everything were going fine until 5 of them in mid and i died to them and my team just pushing lane.. i didn't even complain about 5 mid and wukong top shit talk me again about my score which is 0/3 and jhin is 2/3 i got ganked few times and i didn't get much help from our jungle shaco... and they shit talk me even more after i bought 1 armour item against nearly full ad team as kata... even the useless adc shit talk me when he is not even playing that well their jungle yi is fed their bot is fed excepted my lane ins't fed and they shit talk me ?

so i got punished when someone is shit talk me seriously? i dont usually flame or toxic but when i do always my team deiced to shit talk me or troll. i dont mind getting banned i just hope they get the same thing for it..

Still doesn't give you the right to flame/harass them. That doesn't stop them either.

If you think a player is trolling, report them at the end of the game and if they actually are, Riot will punish them.

No. Nobody has that permission - neither you nor them. If they did that, report them and they will be punished.

You are not the judge/police here. Riot is. You do not get to try and enact justice on them by "flaming them back".

i used to get a notification about someone get punished because of my feedback and they will tell me to keep cool or something like that.. ive reported a lot of troll tbh but recent game i haven't received a single notification so i kinda figured out they didnt get punished

They tuned down the notifications (and have tuned them slightly back up) within the past few years due to players trying to "witch hunt" and see who they got punished. There is a "max time" after a game that a notice will appear - likely somewhere around an hour or two. If it takes more than an hour or two for the system to review the game (ex: it's backlogged or it can't make a determination), or if the game was flagged but not punished yet, you may never get a notice even though your report contributed.

How do you know they did not get a chat restriction? Maybe your game was the only game they were toxic in, and the system didn't think their toxicity was frequent enough to merit punishment.

Just as you had three games, most players don't get punished from just one game of toxicity.

How on earth could you possibly know if they got away with it or not? Riot doesn't tell you every time someone you report gets punished, and chat restrictions won't show up on their match history. There is literally no way for you to determine if the person was punished or not.

Game 1 was none of your business & you chose to shit-talk on them.

In game 2, whatever problem that guy's having is his own thing. It was literally his own fault for swapping lanes anyway. You should have just mute him & concentrate on your own laning phase.

Game 3 also the same as above.

Reporting is the better option. What does shit-talking them actually achieves except to satisfy your frustration? Both the jungle & top were having their own spat, and you joined in anyway knowing this wouldn't help your game a lot.

That shit didn't work in gradeschool, it doesn't work now. You should know better.

If no one started flaming there would be no flaming, yes. But if no one flamed back you'd still be looking at a net decrease in flaming.

The simple fact is that, in League, you need to treat other players well. If they're not treating you well, you can mute them and report them. Once you stoop to their level you are in violation of the rules yourself, and subject to the punishments that violating the rules entails.

Negative Attitude, likely. But, while I know this is frustrating, note that there are no set rules for where any player can/can't farm, nor did they MAKE someone AFK -- AFKing was an intentional choice by that player. Possibly in response to something someone else was doing, but still an intentional choice.

Roam. Farm. Jungle. Go mid and gank. Team up with bot to take Dragon. Team up with the junglers to 2v1 the top laner and secure the tower.

There are tones of options other than "AFK."

It being easier said than done is still not an excuse for problematic behavior. Resisting the urge to flame back or troll back isn't always the easiest course of action, but it IS the one that is appropriate.

Yet you responded in a way that you know is in violation of the rules, and a way that increases the overall negativity in the game and further ruins it for the innocent players on your team. This is why you faced punishment.

Because each player is at his or her own point in the escalation path. What pushes one player over the edge may not push another player at a different current standing over the edge.

Additionally, we can't be sure they didn't get a punishment of some sort. As previously stated, the message doesn't always send when a punishment goes out.

No one is saying they're innocent -- we're saying that their behavior is not an excuse for yours.

Because the team didn't get you banned, you chose to use toxic speech in chat.

It was YOUR choices that got you banned, not the actions of your team.

Nope, you chose to do that all on your own.

In life you always have at least two choices... if someone annoys you in game you can either lash out against them or say nothing (there are actually more options than this, but for the purpose of this conversation let's just assume those are the only choices), you chose to lash you... so... you now suffer the consequence.

If I insult you, then it's up to you to decide how to respond.
