I don't want to scream hacking yet...but this keeps going down.

Not sure where to post this, I don't hang out online in forums and such, but I want the communities thoughts. (note the following was also sent in a bug report) Also trying to cover my ass in the event of a penalty of some sort. ​I was kind of wrecking the other team, and every now and again during key engagements I noticed small spikes, my frames run low (still playable) but my MS was fine. Team finally gets into position for that last push, we take out the defenders and I am about to strike the tower. There are just two outer towers left before we can get the nexus towers. Im running olaf, im somewhere around 18/13/and a few assists, my score is way higher than most of the other players, Im hurting towers when i touch them. Anyway, about to end it and all of a sudden ping is really high (goes into the thousands and then caps at 500) i get the attempting to reconnect screen and after waiting a moment (and checking stuff on my end like router) decided to exit and just reconnect thinking it was something weird. The reconnect button isn't there. So thinking it might have ended while I was exiting, I check my match history so I can see the last results. Its not even there. I have had similar experiences over the last few months (just never take the time to report them because friends are ready to go), but never to this extreme, where it seems like when I engage a certain player that is going to die that I or someone on the team suddenly starts lagging at unplayable levels. I hate to cry foul, but I am beginning to wonder if some players have found a way to hack players by lagging them out (like lag switching in FPS) because it only seems to happen in instances where the players are doing really well. I have had a few games where it seems to occur around players on the other team, and they will have really good scores because the people they go after start magically lagging out and they can't escape. (this nocturne one time, any time he used his ult, no one could move but never happened with nocturnes after) Your thoughts? I am trying to not scream hacker, its a crazy time, I lag sometimes and its more of an meh..situation (more a result of my FPS dropping on an old pc MS runs at around 30), but its really frustrating when this happens and it always feels coincidental and malicious in nature

Kinda sounds like what happened in paladins with the drop-hacks. If it is indeed drop hacks like I am thinking the servers are gonna take a hit and they will degrade..also fun fact if one person uses a drop hack it can affect hundreds of other games.

I've had one game like that too, i guess it's strange yeah and it's possible that it's some sort of drop-hack. But there are also a lot of other issues that could cause something like that to occur, lag and d/c can be caused by a ton of things on your side or your ISP side, and the server where your game is taking place might crash too.

I recently encountered a couple of these as well. Only in ranked, and only twice, but my champion stops responding to movements, ping will shoot up, and then go back down to its usual sub-50ms.

Both times has been when in close combat in lane, and both times resulted in my death. A discord voice conversation was working fine at the time, and I'm not on wireless, so it was definitely something to do with the game connection only and not my wider internet link.

I have had a couple of drop hacks happen to me the last month or so. Not really a big deal as the match no longer exists, but why are people such poor sports that they have to erase the match they could lose in?

Holy crap, I'm not alone.

I've seen this happen to me, as well as various other laners, mostly top. Soon as I get to lane my ping skyrockets sometimes and I cannot function, therefore die, and suddenly I suck.

I fought with my ISP over it because part of it was my Internet connection but now that that's fixed, this explains a lot.

i mean i've been having a lot of lag spikes but mine is mostly the router probably because that had been deemed kinda broken

Thanks for the constructive replies guys!

Update: No response from riot yet, however my friend is really good with software and what not and looked into it.

Some of my DLL files are corrupt, and after finding it, he suggested that I just run a repair.

Some of you may try it as well and see what happens and come back, that way if it persists we can give riot the heads up

I'd hate to think there were hackers in league, but I know some are out there, they just don't have too much impact (well they do, but you can deal with them)

I will run a repair tonight after I got to bed because I can still play and it takes a long time to download on this connection when multiple are on.

I will let you guys know if it improves the situation.

This happent to me before like 2years ago, one time we were winning the game and the game just totally froze.

And everyone was just stuck in place, and i saw in the chat 'playername' : Paused the game.

i'd leave the match after a while and i couldn't reconnect.

this happened to me about a week ago but it was urf, i was playing twitch and i was chasing a veigar and it pretty much booted me from the game

happened repeatedly, on multiple machines, with multiple routers, with multiple locations and multiple ISPs. Would lose connection at key moments in the game or just overall lose connection. Connection stability during league matches is trash compared to every other online service I've used in years. You can change 100% of the equipment (including where you are connecting to) and still the game is unplayable competitively.
