Reporting System

So there are some rank games that players lose because of trolls and other reasons due to a certain teammate. Why not in game have a Report Surrender that has to be voted by all 4 of there teammates to end the game and allow the person causing the problem to receive a penalty for it instead of having the whole team suffer. It's an idea and I know that there can be more than one person being the problem. But what do you guys think?

I think the abuse cases would outweigh the value of such a system.

I understand the desire to be able to get out of losses where you have a problematic teammate. I understand the sickening feeling of "this guy just completely ruined my series." I know how much it sucks to log in to play 1-2 games because that's all you have time to play, only to have one or both of them ruined by trolls or salt lords.

However, this proposed system is a "get out of jail free card" for four members of any given team. There would be cases where four members would martyr the fifth member just to avoid the loss. Then you suddenly have innocent players who are abiding by the rules and may have been playing to the best of their ability, but the other four members simply don't want the loss and vote against him anyway. He's punished for no reason other than being the minority vote. Your system may not be designed to operate like this, but this is a certain result if it were ever implemented.

Ganging up on the worst teammate to get forgiven losses seems dangerously abusable.

And shit, what if it's not their fault? I've had terrible games in top lane where I lose 1v1, then get abandoned by my team and ganked/camped. Perhaps I'm the weak link, perhaps I just got unlucky, but please don't give the other four players permission to pin the whole loss's weight on me.

We are going to lose the game and drop in rank and elo. Let's 4 man report whoever we liked playing with the least or whoever has lowest kda or whatever and then we don't lose anything while they do. Uhmmm... it's a nice idea, but that's why your suggestion doesn't really work.

There have been a number of games this season where I was stuck in silver trying to climb only to have mid lose, jungle ff never gank or camp for a losing lane and just feed more, and bot go 0/10/0 APIECE in laning phase alone. Before their kda reached that low, I was asking nicely for them to just play safe, miss a few cs (to live), hug tower, and not die. I would remind/ask them to please ward only to be ignored. Meanwhile I'd be going even while getting 2v1'd top for 15 min straight and holding my own. And then bot would start calling me toxic for asking them to ward or play safe. And eventually mid and jungle would side with our inting 2/15/3 bot lane who fed 3v2 over the toplaner who went 2/5/4 - 3 deaths being from teamfights tanking the enemies they fed. And somehow I'm the bad guy who gets reported while bot lane is a pair of saints who had to put up with me all game. Yeah, I think your suggestion is not the best idea. P.S. - this "get gud stay in bronze" is now gold 5. And my 0/10/0 teammates from those games? You tell me where they are. I'm not saying I'm amazing or they are trash. I am saying we should never have been at the same rank or in the same game. And because matchmaking puts such variety of people together, your reporting system would easily be abused and not achieve its intended purpose.
