What do I do?

It occurred to me in several games that players swear with cancer. I guess I am not the only one who is getting hurt by this. Generally, players stop swearing with such things quite quickly. However last match I had a dutch guy in my team, Anieshuli, swearing with the dutch word for cancer. I told him I knew what he was saying, because I'm dutch too. I told him to stop calling out cancer, or kanker, for what it's called in the netherlands. But he refused. So well, I gave him a reason to stop. My mother died of cancer recently, and it's still very painfull evry time I think of it. Sorrowly, this player was big enough of a jerk to not care about it. I reported him in the end, but as we all know, that does nothing. I don't know what to do with something like that. It can't just be. However there's no way of punishing people like this either. So back to the title-question: What do I do? I hope someone knows. Goodbye.

Trust me, reporting does something. The best thing you can do in this situation is mute them and report them after the game.

It really doesn't do anything when you want it to, you just cross your fingers and hope to the Tribunal Robot that they get caught one day but because the system gives people so many excuses and tries its best not to punish for every little word someone says (understandably) stories like the OP's really stand out as to why instead of this player having to go to the forums to tell us this he/she should had been given justice straight away.

As a competitive game I personally accept and agree that when things get heated many players tend to not act themselves, they curse for victory and defeat equally in an offensive way or a term of endearment but when you start spewing death threats and ways your life as the player is meaningless that goes beyond competitive affairs and becomes very personal. These kinds of conversations among team mates should be brought to justice compared to swearing casually or like I said in a competitive fashion. I don't mean to sound too morbid but I wouldn't be surprised if one day someone did just off themselves from a LoL game. I'm not saying the blood will be on Riots hands but I am saying that it's not impossible to tweak the robot and act harsher on death threats.

cant the message that someone got reported show up more often? in my last game i had that "i hope you get cancer" guy and after my report i was waiting for the message to appear telling me he got banned but nothing happened.

if you would "save" my report and lets say if this player gets banned in the next 48h the message would appear that would be great!

First, there's no name dropping allowed. Second, have you looked at how many people are asking to be unbanned? Reporting works.

What makes you say nothing happened. Look around this board. You can see tons of people chat restricted, banned, and perma banned for all sorts of similar things. You reported him, you have done what you needed to do.

It's funny sometimes because sometimes the feeder on the team is just the guy getting punished the most by the enemy team and isn't the person making the horrible call that gets everyone massacred in the reoccurring snowball.

A lot of the worst players on a losing team are instatilt ragers.

I feel you brother.. its not only a problem of league of legents players its a problem of all human beans.. People love to hate humiliate destroy disrespect insulting others just for one reason .. to feel better.. its really sad God not exist in thier hearts and they replace it with Devil...so Devil use them like marrionetes to hurt other people The only you can do is to pray for all those people inside you and God give you strength and thier bad words never hurt you anymore... is like a personnal miracle and only if you ask it you get it ( from God)

PS 1.i know some they flame me here and say * God not exist bla bla bla i say to all of them * call it as you like but 100% on this world there is a war... good against evil and people take thier roles in this war.. Choose your side and your weapons

It really is dumb that you can't drop names. Imagine if we couldn't name Hitler as the leader of the Nazi's? Would he ever be dealt with?
