Riot needs a way to track down (or backtrack) players who report others wrongfully.

I received 14-day suspension for "abusive, player-reported comms". I've filed a ticket and im sure Rito was sort it out.

But there is a much bigger issue of players wrongfully reporting others.

Lets look at the chat log that was considered "abusive" and the context behind the chatlog.

Game 1 xNaisa: most of us do xNaisa: u guys take xNaisa: or leave (my team tried invaded enemy blue side, i asked if they will take the blue or leave it)

xNaisa: dafuq they rather lose lane xNaisa: and get me lol (I re-enter enemy blue side right after red buff, ran into their jungler, support and adc. So i told my team in team chat the enemy botside rather spend time killing me than match the early level 2 of my team's bot side)

xNaisa: ward (me communicating to my team a location has a ward on it)

xNaisa: its a lux - - xNaisa: tahts so rip lol (enemy Vayne went behind my team's lux, but got 1 shot by a lux skill rotation and was complaining , this is very much non abusive)

xNaisa: aanother ward there (me communicating to my team a location has a ward on it)

xNaisa: lol xNaisa: fucking xNaisa: zzz xNaisa: i spiked (I complained to my own team about a lag spike)

xNaisa: lol he ran out xNaisa: of E xNaisa: L)L xNaisa: LOL xNaisa: unlucky xNaisa: who put a ward there for u (Enemy Yas attempt to save their zac by teleporting to its passive, but instead mistakenly teleporting on a ward, nothing I said was abusive)

xNaisa: they are at it xNaisa: all lux =DDD xNaisa: gawd so slow (telling my team enemy is at baron, nothing abusive)

xNaisa: now xNaisa: %%%%% twitch backed (telling my team in team chat to go for a objective since their carry backed, nothing abusive, maybe offensive)

xNaisa: gg (its a gg after we won the game)

TL;DR: **The big issue here is the anonymity of players who are reporting people. **

In our real life societies, misuse and abuse of 911 can lead to fines or even jail time. But in League of Legends, misuse and abuse of report system has no repercussion at all.

To make it worst, Riot informs players that a player they had recently reported had been banned.

Implementing Riot's report system to RL, I can literally dial 911 anonymously on my neighbor on a false claim, and the police will call me back and inform me that they had arrested my neighbor with no parole.

Maybe if my 14-days dont get revoked, i might as report all the other 9 players every game once im unbanned.

9 players in 11 games is 99 people, 11 games takes me around 2 days. All I need is a 1.01% chance of causing a ban and within 2 days, I can make 1 player loses 2 weeks or even permanent play time.

Dear Riot, lets make this community less toxic, starting with detoxing your own system.

When you get reported an automated system checks your logs to see if anything is punishable in them, then if they are it adds it to a case against you, and when your case reaches the point it is punishable you get punished. The issue is you seem to think that your logs are not punishable, and tbh they aren't the worst ever, the main issue is that you used hate speech or racism, it is censored so I cant tell which.

Riot has a zero tolerance policy against hate speech and racism and it is an instant 14 day suspension for using it if it is reported.

Yes, but in real life the government has to use tax payer's dollars to pay people to hurry to the scene, generally armed, bust onto the property, and occasionally end up wrongfully hurting somebody. Nobody in this case is using the tax payer's money or potentially causing somebody harm or death.

How about you post your full, unedited chat log (DO NOT include commentary, nobody cares about the context), and screenshots proving you haven't edited it?

You should keep in mind the system throws out reports where it fails to find toxicity. A "false" report can't affect your account.

I am sure that Riot actually can track down who reported who: before the system was as good at filtering out false reports as it is--and back when report weighting was a thing--it actually used to decrease the value of your reports based on how frequently you incorrectly reported someone.

These days, the system is very good at filtering out false reports, and so the backtracking feature is not used. I'm sure it still exists though, and Riot could find out if they wanted to.

The problem with your account is not false reports though: it's racism. While that word is acceptable in some small friend groups or cultural groups, the public forum that is League of Legends is not an appropriate place for it.

You are welcome to use whatever language you want when sending private messages to and from your friends, or when using third-party software to communicate. When you were communicating publicly inside the league client, however, that language is not acceptable, and it is subject to a zero-tolerance policy resulting in a 14-day ban on the first offense.

You should also note that a 14-day ban puts your account one behavioral punishment of any kind away from a permanent ban. You will need to be on your best behavior for at least two to three months to recover your account's standing.

What is censored word?

And this was the only chat log?

Most likely this is the reason you were punished. The fact that the boards censored this word means it's one of the zero tolerance words.

The IFS will punish for words like these regardless of context and you should avoid using them at all.

False reporting doesn't really harm anyone, most false reports don't end in a punishment precisely because they are false. There is no need to punish people for this.

Greetings.

I can assure you that fake reports have nothing to do with your punishment. The Instant Feedback System does not "trust" people to make honest reports.

It absolutely doesn't matter how many people issue fake reports, since reports only trigger the investigation, they play no role in the outcome.

If this is the only chat log and you're not leaving anything out then send in a support ticket. Otherwise, I suspect there is more to this.
