Thanks Riot, I was banned for being told to kill myself. Got a 14 day suspension after an extremely toxic match. I told someone they were useless. Okay, that's toxic right? Except the person I called useless had 4k ping. I even clarified that I was saying they were useless to the team with their lag, that it wasn't their fault and I wasn't blaming them. The Soraka on my team got extremely toxic over it, and would not let it go. Yeah, I said some bad things to them. I said that their behavior was sad and pathetic. Because it was. They literally told me to "Google how much bleach you need to drink to commit suicide". I reported them after the game, and almost immediately got a notification that action had been taken against the player.

And yet I got a 14 day suspension for being on the receiving end of the flaming that I responded to with maybe a tenth the amount of toxicity? adoraa: Uh adoraa: They have no smite adoraa: ... adoraa: I have the same exact build I did playing Twitch yesterday adoraa: And yet I was at half health after 1 camp adoraa: Awesome adoraa: GG our Lux is useless

^ I just tried to gank mid lane as jungle and our Lux was pinging they had like 4k ping.

^ Yes this actually happened, our Soraka after freaking out on me for saying our Lux was useless, called our Lux 'hopeless'. Continued to rage at me.

^ Lux came back from disconnecting multiple times and was upset I called her useless. So I explained to her that I meant literally... yes, someone who can't play the game is useless to their team. It's not an insult, it's a fact.

^ I have no shame for having said this. It's how they were behaving, and I don't think it's toxic to say this to someone who has been trash talking me all match.

^ At this point in reponse to me saying she should google the definition of 'Useless' they said and I quote, "You should google how much bleach you need to commit suicide. 'Twitch Amount'". There is no possibly way they were talking about committing suicide themselves, however they tried to turn it around as if they were.

So tell me, other than being angry at someone who spent the whole match trash talking me, at what point was I toxic? At what point did I deserve a ban?

In a world, where you can get flamed and told to kill yourself, respond with a fraction of the toxicity, get banned for it, and if you dare complain about being banned for pretty much nothing, you get mass downvoted and laughed at by people who have all most likely done worse. This is the LoL community in a nutshell I am getting to experience it would seem.

The number of times I've reported someone for telling me to kill myself and they got no punishment LOL. But I argue with someone who was flaming me and telling me to kill myself, and I AM THE ONE who gets banned xD It even said they received a penalty, so it was acknowledged that they were in the wrong. And I didn't argue with ANYONE else that game. So the whole chat log you see posted was at them. Now compare every single thing I said, to being literally told to kill myself. And you think I'm toxic? You think I deserve to be banned?

I would like people to quote one reason from the chat log that I should be banned. What did I do that was ban worthy. And I don't want any out of context quotes, because in the OP I clearly outlined why I said the things I did and told my side of the story. Of course someone comes in and has to erase all that and post it without my side of the story, because apparently the only way people will look at a chat log is if it has no context so that everything said looks as bad as it possibly can.

The notification clearly stated I was banned for reports in that one game. One game was all it took. It's not like I have some long history of being super toxic. In fact, I consider myself a far more friendly player than most. Typically I'm the one getting flamed. I didn't gank someone's lane as much as they want me to? Proceed to tell me how trash I am at jungle. Reported, no action taken against them. I'm having a bad game so I have more deaths than usual? Told how stupid I am and that I'm "probably just a trash bronze" because you know, people in LoL love to pull rank like it means anything. Or perhaps I picked an off meta champ for my role? Proceed to be told how stupid I am, called a troll, told I'm going to be reported, and flamed all match long. Report multiple people, no action taken. Oh but I screw up once and have an argument in which I don't even say anything all that bad, maybe act like an idiot but otherwise I'm not outright going around insulting people or calling them trash or saying they should uninstall the game or kill themselves or anything like that. And the response to this one game and the few reports I get from it are an instant 14 day ban. I was making fun of someone who was flaming me all match long.

And for this one incident. I get banned. Makes sense right?

I don't know if there's any staff or moderators or anything that actually look at the chat before deciding whether it's a ban or not, but if there are, I am almost certain that whoever looked at my log and decided to put a ban on my account, pretty much looked at it, saw I said our Lux was useless, and went took it out of context and just immediately slapped on the banhammer.

By the way, when I say this person was flaming me all match long, I mean things like at one point they literally said: "Your mother wanted a miscarriage"

It won't let me copy them for some reason. I was even going to copy the part where it claimed I had been reported for harassment. I don't harass people, I'm the kind of player who says "gj" after each kill I see and can respond to, I always say gg, and the only people I ever 'flame' are those people who are toxic right off the bat and really deserve to be trash talked. You know those players that end up being trash talked by your whole team because they are going around saying how bad you all are and how they have to carry and you suck and should stop playing? Yeah, those are the only people I flame.

You spend the entire game calling lux useless from the moment the first gank went wrong as well as egging on and encouraging soraka's poor behavior. While soraka may have been behaving poorly you did nothing to discourage her from continuing on with that poor behavior, and aside from the first 4 lines of the game it's just you arguing with soraka and getting into a shouting and insult match with her. This is why you were punished, not because of soraka's behavior but for your own instead. Other peoples poor behavior doesn't give your own a get out of jail free card.

Advice:

Calling people useless isn't gonna get them to magically play better, but more often than not worse. It's fine to be frustrated with someone but if you try some positive encouragement/reinforcement then they'll most likely play better than they have been. If they're not receptive of the advice then just drop it and move on rather than egg them on about it all game long. Focusing on a single mistake or two the entire game isn't gonna get you anywhere and only hinders your overall performance. Is it okay to be disappointed in them? Yes. Is it okay to use that as a jumping off point to insult and harass other players? No. When dealing with people like the soraka the best course of action is to mute, report and move on. You can try to calmly and respectfully diffuse the situation at first but if it becomes clear that they'd rather rage and flame instead then just mute them, report them and move on rather than argue with them all game long.

My verdict: Punish.

P.S. Everyone is judged based on their behavior alone, and if the soraka acts that way frequently enough (and is reported for it) then she will receive a punishment of her own assuming she hasn't already.
