You need to provide a warning or something. How many buttons do I need to press before the game client understands that YES I WANT TO PLAY THAT FUCKING CHARACTER?

You need to provide a warning or something.
To be fair, there is a warning when you get into any New Champ Select lobby, that if you don't click the Lock In button, you'll be booted as if you hadn't selected a character. It's certainly possible to make that message stop popping up, but presumably by the time you do that, you know what the message said.
In answer to your question, however:

Two - the champion you want to select, and the Lock In button. Which, yes, is more than previously, but it's honestly not that bad, and helps encourage paying attention to the champ select.
Does anyone else CRINGE when people call them "characters" or any word like that other than Champions? like its literally defined by the game itself that they are called Champions, why is that so often ignored?
I know its nitpicky and unrelated, just a HUGE pet peeve and sometimes makes me deeply wonder how well these people actually know the game.
PS: Just click the dang lock button, its really not that hard...
