I got chat restricted because some guy forgot to take smite and I raged about it. First the guy attempts to jungle anyways despite multiple teammates informing him that he'd barely get xp. He finally decides to lane (of course in my lane, mid) and dies repeatedly. I'm certain he didn't get any penalties for his mistake though.

Next game I get a Lux top, my support picks MF, and my adc picks Camille. I come into a game where Lux is randomly mid with me and taking cs, the Camille is top and the MF is alone bot lane. I'm sure that despite me and the jungler being the only ones deciding to play our actual assigned lanes, none of the others were penalized in any way.

TLDR - I refuse to press the 'I Understand' button because I see it as completely unjustified. Realistically, any decent person would see their mistake and dodge the game or not connect so the rest of the team can move on. Plus karma trolled me, anyways, literally the next game so it's just a double punishment at this point.

Yes, he probably didn't get any penalty, because as you said yourself, he did a mistake. Riot does not punish players for making mistakes.

You didn't make a mistake. You made a choice to flame him. And no, it is not his fault you flamed him, it is your fault. That is why you were punished.

I had to deal with a jungler a few hours ago who insisted “smite is overrated” when we finally were able to ff, they ended up being level 5 while the rest of us were level 10-13. I break meta all the time and am totally against punishing off meta choices, but deliberately not taking smite as jg should be punishable.

I looked at this persons history, looks like they troll people a lot this way. Nothing will be done about it either, rest assured.
