@ Riot Why is things like Disco nunu not an instant a permaban?

Literally have had 2 people today that got support and refused to play their role. First guy went top lane as teemo supp then stayed there for the whole game till we ff@17mins cause our top laner quit as he didn't appreciate a troll that was hindering his lane while the teemo basically inted for the rest of the game. Now again got another player that refused to play supp and took nunu, stole enemy blue level.1 and then came mid to int and give the enemy blue, then come back again and do the same thing on repeat. This guy probably does this everytime he doesn't get his role just based on his name. Obviously I do not appreciate it and there is no way for me to get out of this hostage situation without doing something that will have consequences such as flaming/ afk/ trolling myself and have to baisacally deal with this stupid bs. So why are actions like these not harshly punished, especially on champs that are infamous to do so on like nunu?

EDIT: I also have recorded VOD from my POV if a rioter sees this post and wants concrete evidence.

I looked at the match histories and here are my opinions:

Game #1 - This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I don't think the support needs to necessarily go to bot lane and supporting top should be considered acceptable. However, there is not enough information to know if he was ever planning on supporting top or support roaming or if he was trying to simply take over top lane. Considering that the Fiora afked with 0 CS, it makes it impossible to know if Teemo would have built a support item and played as a support otherwise.

Game #2 - Nunu clearly was griefing/inting considering that he did practically 0 damage to enemies. Nunu support works and taking smite as support to counterjungle the enemy when the opportunity arises is a fine off-meta strategy to disadvantage the enemy team, but this particular Nunu was indeed griefing. Considering his name, he probably does this often, so he might be approaching a third-strike for a ban.

Hi JustinLeeDotson!

I understand that you're frustrated, but naming and shaming isn't something we allow on the boards. For this reason, I've removed the match history links in the OP, which had summoner names intact.

Cause disco nunu is awesome

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Disco Nunu. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics, most of the jokes will go over a typical players head. There’s also Nunu's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterization- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Disco Nunu truly ARE idiots- of course, they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Nunu's existential catchphrase “Don't make the yeti angry, you won't like him when he's angry,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂

And yes, by the way, I DO have a Disco Nunu tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎

Not trying to make light of your suffering, but this needs to be a skin.

Nunu and Wullump at the disco Saturday Night Fever style.

The reason why is because it is extremely hard to differentiate between "playing off meta," "playing off meta poorly," and "trolling/inting."

If you had someone get placed support, abandon bot lane, farm the enemy jungle, dying repeatedly so that they have a pretty low KDA, and spend the whole game not grouping, would you call that trolling?

Probably...well in the case of smite support singed, the community backlash against him being punished for his "off meta playstyle."

Riot doesn't want to enforce a meta. So while inting is punishable, it can take over 500 reports in some cases for a punishment to be dished out because the system is really cautious about accidentally banning someone for inting. The only realistic way you can expect an inter to be banned is if they say bad words

For a sec i thought you were talking about a Nunu skin xd

I mean, insta permaban is a bit much maybe but it should be punishable. However i don't know how that is being judged post-tribunal league, might just fall trough the cracks unless you open a ticket and get a human to look at it.
