why do people give up so easily

I want to know why people give up so easily in games. I do not see how in any way it is acceptable for a person to give up and ruin the experience of 4 other people, please can someone give me an argument why people do this, and maybe my opinion will change.

is the person "giving up" 5-0 at 15 minutes and the team score is 6-22. or is it 3 minutes into the game and the guy giving up is 0-1? Big difference.

Much easier to ff a 0/40 game then slowly grind to an inevitable lose. Picture my solo que game if you will. Support doesnt by a sightstone. No one else but me buys wards. No vision. Playing without vision/information is rough. Bot lane has both died 8 times in 10 mins, have 30 cs, spam pinging for help and flaming the team. Top laner gets behind and says if we dont ff at 15 he is going to troll/afk. They have a scaling comp vayne 16/1. Nasus 6/0. Telling me you would not ff? Ive won a 3v5 on the rift before while it was rewarding it was mentally taxing. I dont play for wins i dont play for kills, i play for fun. And getting my butt stomped can some times be a learning experience So the enemy scales better and stomped early game; id rather ff and start another game than spend 40 more mins trying to win with a team that i can only communicate with pings and text. (P.s. the vayne actually said in all chat "hey team lets not win, i want to make a penta montage lol"

:)

You are also excluding people that have 'lives' outside of league. For instance if i get called into work im going to try to offer a surrender rather than afk. What if some one has a baby that starts to cry or they have any emergency.

Food for thought my friend.

Depends on what you mean by giving up. If you're talking about people who think the game is unwinnable or is just no longer fun, so they stop trying and just let the enemy team win, then yes that's just bad and I think is already reportable.

If you're just talking about people surrendering, in which case it's a majority of the team who has to be ready to end the game, it's fine and should not be reportable. There are times where I just want out of the game, and I'll even start a surrender vote sometimes, but if it fails I'll keep playing and trying to the best of my ability. Surrendering is perfectly fine, it's the other stuff people do when they don't get their way that is a problem.

Simple. The game doesn't do a good job at explaining any of this (hell, the tutorial doesn't really do a good job at explaining the basic game).

When you are a new player and constantly see people going off for half a dozen kills early and snowballing, while you are just trying to stay under 10 deaths, how do you think it looks? Only when you see actual comebacks do you understand it's possible, but since you probably aren't contributing to said come-back (because you don't know how, you don't know it's possible, etc), then you probably WONT come back, so you never seen them to believe them.

if you mean someone gives up and then just afks or ints then yes but that's only because they afked or inted. if they still keep trying even though theyre demoralized in chat, it only means their spirit is broken but they havent fully given up.

Time is money. Sometimes its best to realize a game is over instead of dragging it out for another 15 minutes.

People already get punished for consistently giving up (not just surrendering) and having negative attitude.
