Is this a worth punishment?

I got suspended for 14 days for the following messages: Game 1: FuhrerMatt: lets invade FuhrerMatt: %%%got FuhrerMatt: stfu %%%got FuhrerMatt: why FuhrerMatt: twitch? FuhrerMatt: ? FuhrerMatt: ? FuhrerMatt: ? FuhrerMatt: ? FuhrerMatt: ? FuhrerMatt: ? FuhrerMatt: ? FuhrerMatt: ? FuhrerMatt: ? FuhrerMatt: WHAA FuhrerMatt: ? FuhrerMatt: ggez

I say "%%%got" twice. How is that worthy of a 14-day suspension when saying, excuse me for my language, "%%%%%%" which in all regards is exponentially worse, gets my other account a 14-day suspension as well. I also say the N word a good 30 times. Please, I need feedback from the following poll.

Your ban was justified, there's no reason you should be throwing hate speech around. It doesn't matter if there are "worse" things, you did wrong, and got punished for it.

Also, your poll is flawed by bias and imposing hypothetical thoughts on the potential poll-takers. It should be a simple "yes" or "no".

Sadly, you conform to society, society doesn't conform to you. That's why I think this whole cis, and making up pronouns shit is wrong. I know a "girl" who claims to be genderless, and I accidentally refer to her as "she" and "ashley" all the time (she prefers ash, as it is gender neutral). I'm sorry Ash, but I'm not gonna conform to your special needs. You don't get to decide what society should think or do. We don't conform to you, you conform to us. You get a job, you carry yourself in a way that allows a society to function, you follow the laws and buy products that society provides, you find your place within society. Nobody is a complete non conformist... unless maybe you're a psychopath.

I grew up and still play in punk bands and the audiences I play for are the epitome of "non conformists", but I don't see it that way. They've all conformed to their own niche in society. They found something they liked, and conformed to it. They think they're different, but they are just the same as any other group of people. Punks are the snobbiest, most elitist group of "non conformists".

So in all honesty, and I really shouldn't say this, as it is inherently insulting and I don't mean to insult you personally... But you saying you don't "conform to society" reminds me of my 15 year old douchey self, and I cringed when I read that. Don't take yourself too seriously. I don't know how old you are, but 15 years ago I wish I knew what I know now, and if I did, I wouldn't say shit like "I don't conform to society" because it's utterly arrogant and ignorant, believe it or not. You probably do conform, you just like the illusion of thinking you're different and above it all. But you're not.

Slang =/= slur.

Besides, you got your info wrong. Cis is identifying with your birth gender, not your sexuality.

And, on top of that, the slurs that fall under hate speech have a pretty lengthy history of being used to dehumanize anyone who wasn't straight or white.

If you can put a history of oppression, dehumanization, and lawless hate to the term "cis", then it can be considered hate speech. But it hasn't such a history, and it's a neutral term (albeit it can and has been levelled as an insult), so, it doesn't count.

Zero tolerance means "this will not be tolerated". Hence why anyone who throws about hate speech (like the OP) are dealt with by an immediate 14-day suspension when a report has been verified.

Well, you don't make the rules, Riot does. And they don't want hate speech in their game, and they don't want flamers, either. If you can't play a game without flaming, then League isn't for you.

And just muting won't solve the problem, either; that's where reports come in. If someone's being a jerk, they get reported, they get dealt with. Simple as that.

How does Riot gauge their punishments for "zero tolerance" violations?

My other account also got a 14-day suspension in which I said a numerically higher number of racial slurs.

On the other hand, my first account got permanently banned for a similar amount of text as the above, only replace the majority of the "?" with a variation of the n-word.
