IFS and unfair suspensions

I was given a 14-day ban the other day after a game I played with a chinese team. I made no aggressive remarks, other than when my team was typing in chinese I typed "c hing c hong- not meant as a racial slur but more an indication that maybe not everyone spoke that language. Which brings me to my question: Is this kind of language severe enough to merit a ban? How far does one have to go to get banned?

I've read somewhere that the IFS is a player-based system, so is it players who are issuing these bans?

They don't take likely to racial or homophobic slurs of any kind so if this is your first punishment, then yeah, it is because of that.

Referencing racial slurs is not acceptable in Riot's eyes. So it will net you a 14-day ban first offense. Depending on your behavioral history, you may get it lowered as a first time offense. http://support.riotgames.com

There are two parts to the IFS:

There is a zero-tolerance part of it that deals with hate speech and encouraging others to harm themselves.
The hate speech is decided my Riot and is essentially a keyword searcher, when you say those things, it'll punish you regardless what your behaviorial history and context is.
2nd part is learning machine and learns from the community reports of what the community considers toxic
This part is the one that deals with the milder toxicity and gives out chat restrictions. It takes in account whether the chat context was malicious and also takes in account behavioral history when deciding whether to punish others.

You got punished by the first part of the system.

c hing c hong is not a racial slur. It is a mockery of LANGUAGE. NOT RACE.

A chinese person is never called a c hing c hong.
