Zilean In this forum, I would like to bring light to the fact that unranked play is filled with toxics, and I am slightly annoyed. but I simply wanted to raise awareness and inquire suggestions from the community as of how to encourage a decrease in that toxicity. I admit my previous attempt was a bit blunt and unhinged, but at the time I was just steamed from toxic hate getting thrown at me due to an unfamiliarity with running a jungle champion. this time, I'm just going to hand the discussion to the community. my hat will not be in the ring.

It's kind of a "Only you can prevent forest fires" sort of thing. You can't contribute to the problem, and you need to be proactive in stamping it out when noone else will.

Especially in low elo or unranked play, players will be frequently focused on practicing things they are bad at or having fun more than "tryharding" and winning by playing strictly what they are best at and/or within the meta. Knowing this you should try and be more accepting when a teammate isn't performing optimally, and also that some others won't have this mindset and they can get upset about it; if you can't get those other players calmed down so everyone can focus on the game, don't hesitate to mute them.

I myself am currently practicing Master Yi jungle. I understand I'm new and bad at it, so I let my team know I'm still inexperienced; I don't respond negatively to their criticisms and mute them if they become a problem so that I can just focus on improving. I know many players won't take that high road and will let the criticism get to them, so if they are being harassed I want to deescalate the situation and help them out.
