Trolled and i get banned?

Hi,

So I was playing a game just now on rift and our sup (<Removed By Moderation>) decided to ban tops pick in lobby then go nunu and troll our jg. After about 5-10min he started trying to tilt me. I did get tilted and had a go back at him. He called me a %%%%% (racist Asian term which I take offence as I am Asian Australian) and I did reply with %%%% (which I don't defend and admit it was not appropriate, even though I'm Asian Australian) . He also then called me a fa**ot and to go kill myself. Long story short at end of the game he goes have fun with ban. Within 2minutes I got logged out and logged back in with a 14day ban!?

I've never been banned before, spend a lot of money and time on lol, always treat people with respect etc. And <Removed By Moderation> as I type he's playing another game? Um ok riot? Please review this. I understand if I broke the rules and T&c's etc then I except the lengthy and IMO unjust length on ban.

Contact the support, they will eventually take more care of your case.

Why would they lift the ban? He used a zero tolerance word hence the % and got punished for it.

Well a friend of mine got lifted from his 14 days ban as his offender abused body-blocking via a script, even after using a zero tolerance word, so, who knows.

Well I said "if you gonna use that word and corrected how you spell it" So yeah I used it but out of context.

That's the wrong move. Just because someone did shit at you, doesn't mean you have all the free rights to throw shit back.

I agree its nothing. Just annoying and put up with the same players trolling time and time again an eventually bite and type one wrong word and bang 14days suspended. So to answer your question you get banned. While they jump on another game and rinse and repeat.

I learned the hard way I guess. :(

You went in the trap which sadly many 'healthy' players step in.

There's sadly many toxic players who does their best to bait you into saying things you originaly wouldn't say or not stand for. If a player decides to flame you and you flame back, then you'll get the same amount of "black marks" as the flamer would recieve. It really bites, but sadly its the bitter truth.

I hope you'll continue playing with good intentions once the penalty is over. Don't let them fool you!

Thanks for you reply. Just dishearten and It feels unjust IMO. Most likely wont purchase any skins etc. now as things like this happened. E.g. I just bought the new WW skin :( and get a 14day ban.

Quick question, which had me stumped. I received my ban almost instant and its 2130? And yet I reported him and he's still playing? Anyone know why he wasn't banned? Seems a little fishy to me

The acused player might've had a cleaner record than you, makes the system less patient towards you than them. There's a chance aswell that the acused player has been penalized with a chat restriction or such.

I guess you do have the option to sumbit a ticket, but that is **IF ONLY ** you truly believe there's been a wrongfully penalty/- or you wish for a less strict one. I wouldn't recommend this as you haven't added logs **AND ** the impression we get combined with your penalty speaks for itself.

I checked his record and it is terrible, I was In a previous game with him and he trolled. Plus on op.gg his match history is nunu troll 18 loses in a row! This is ranked by the way.

Probably and frustratingly so, I will most likely have to wait 14days for a first offence. I do appreciate your help but so thanks for your advice I just submitted a ticket.

My whole argument is that I get a 14day ban straight up for retaliating, while the person who made the original hate speech remains unaffected. I admitted I was wrong even though from a social stand point making fun of ones own ace is no considered racist, but I still agreed it was wrong to flame back and use certain terms. My frustration from this ban steams from how unjust the system is.

Yes, sometimes it appears to be unjust when the other party doesn't get punished. But several things can occur:

  1. maybe that's the other's first offense. You didn't get punished on your first game where you were flaming, right?
  2. maybe your report didn't trigger it, but today, tomorrow, or next week, the next one will be sufficient to punish him.
  3. maybe it is unjust and he spelled the trigger word differently so that the IFS didn't catch it. unfair indeed, but happens.
  4. maybe that kid's father works for Riot and can get you banned anytime he wants!!

whichever it is, best thing to do is to let it go, and move on. Some anonymous kid you don't know flames you over a virtual game for less than an hour. is that really worth your frustration to be kept up for hours / days? I don't think so.

Well at the time It didn't occur to me that he spelt all the offence words incorrectly. So maybe the algorism didn't pick it up?

Someone breaking the rules does not give you the excuse to break the rules yourself.

Someone cuts me off on the road by going double the speed limit and I start accelerating to match his speed to then cut him off and then get stopped by a cop -- "but officer! He cut me off I was just retaliating it should be acceptable!"

Mate you just made the most open ended statement possible. The cop has to speed to catch the offender, so give him a ticket also? So someone throws a punch and I defend myself and in so throw a punch back and I'm a criminal? Not that black and white.

Your statement was way to general. Plus the whole premise of my argument has been the lack of justice (it sorted now, thanks riot) at the time. And I was not defending my actions as I've statement in my original post.

No matter how much money you spend, it doesnt exclude you from punishment. Whether or not he said those things, he reported you, and you did not.
