League Never Connected me to my Match

I was trying to enter a game and I realized I wasn't connecting. I then quit the program to re enter as happens on League from time to time. It usually lets me connect after I do so once but this time after multiple tries the game ended up ending early without me able to enter. I was then given a leaver penalty for 5 games and I really don't think that's my fault when I did my best to re enter a ranked game I really wanted to be a part of.

If I am still in the wrong I would like to know so that in the future I can just bite the bullet. And now I wait on average 10 minutes for a game.....

Leaver penalties are not normally issued for one game. You must have a history of leaving games or connection problems to have gotten a penalty.

I didn't leave a single game for months, and when the new client I ended up involuntarily dcing a lot until I switched to old client.

Sure I was afk every second game years and yearrs ago but people who've reformed don't deserve a 20 minute wait because of a bug fron riot, especially when the wait time encourages my old bad habits to resurface since - It's 20 minutes!

Cooking while in Q and champ select -ordering food while in Q and champ select

These often spill over into the game.

Are you still involuntarily dcing a lot now that the new client is mandatory?

If so, fix the issues before queueing again so you can avoid further punishment.

If not, you are likely leaving out some information.

No, Riot fixed their client. What kind of information would I be leaving out? The timer never resets to 5 minutes.

It actually does reset over time and games. If you show a pattern of almost never leaving (or never leaving) games after a 5 minute penalty, you will fall down to that level, or even no penalty, after time.

This doesn't make sense to me because while I routinely have it drop down to no penalty, if a penalty is triggered it is always the 20 minute penalty for 5 games. I have not seen the 5 minute penalty again. What is going on?

What do you mean it has reset to no penalty? Simply leaving one game and not getting a penalty doesn't mean your level has reset, it just means you haven't hit another punishment yet.

If you haven't dropped back to 5 minutes, you certainly haven't dropped to no penalty.

Remember it takes many months to drop from 20 min to no penalty, and if you keep leaving at a low rate, you may not get punishments every time but still be at a 20 min level.
