so i got chat banned again yesterday. Was i toxic? yes, yes i was. Was i the only one? no, no i wasn't. i get the same players in every game i play in RIOT. I get players who do not know how to listen or work as a team. So when you attempt to talk with them and give insight, they turn toxic and begin to flame me. This continues most of the game which is accompanied with them refusing to help the team in any way and they usually afk split farm a lane. So RIOT, my question to you is why do you not crack down on these players? when investigating these incidents where i am toxic, why aren't you looking at what others said. This is not the first time its happened and probably wont be the last. There are far to many trolls and people much more toxic than me and seem to get away with it just because they weren't reported. I don't report them because i have thick skin and i am not a cry baby who gets hurt when someone says the EXACT SAME THINGS to me as i said to them. So RIOT, why. Why do you not look into the entire situation? are you just to lazy? do you get these reports and only look at MY chat? I'm very sure if you would look into the ENTIRE situation you would see that the extent of the toxicity in this game is WAYYYYYYYYY worse than the statistics you provide on it. I love this game, I love RIOT and what they've done with this game. I do not love the way the Player Behavior and Moderation has not progressed in its efficiency and ability to eliminate the true trolls and toxic people who make playing this game stressful at times.

sincerely,

a concerned league player

I feel like you're describing a scenario where "toxicity" and "being bad at the game" have quite a bit of overlap. Some people just don't appreciate the teamwork aspect of this game and/or have terrible macro knowledge and skill, but that's not exactly a punishable characteristic. They're bad, but they aren't breaking any rules.

You have answered your own question here. Riot doesn't crack down on them if they aren't reported. The current system, the IFS, is an automated one that works off of reports.

You have answered your own question here again. If you don't report them, the IFS doesn't review their chat. The IFS is not concerned with the context of why YOU were toxic. As far as the IFS is concerned, it doesn't matter why you were. It only matters that you were.

As JOoO has said, it's best to try and protect yourself by not engaging. If they attack you, mute them, report them and move on. Complaining that they are more toxic than you are, but then not reporting them, is kinda like telling Riot that you are fine with them acting that way. Since you aren't bothered by it enough to report it.

Well man... read the summoners code. They consider retaliation to be just as bad as starting a fight. They started it, you decided to continue it. Next time just ignore the anonymous strangers mean words and report em after game. You won't get punished, they might, hopefully your feelings will recover and you can move on.
