Dear Riot: If you're going to auto ban people for typing in games, just remove chat altogether.

Didn't use foul language. Didn't harass my teammates. This is a normals game, by the way, so the idea of, "you shouldn't be typing in the first place" makes no sense since Normals is literally free-for-all trolling. Riot's broken auto-ban algorithm flags any game where someone types more than 8 lines and bans them, regardless of context. Nice job, Riot.

Also, if "don't type" is the only way not to get banned, then Riot games has intentionally created a method for people to get banned, instead of just not having chat in the first place. I'd call that malicious, but I honestly thing Riot developers are too stupid to be that malign and that they're just incompetent.

No, it doesn't.

I type veritable essays every single game and have never once received a punishment. Plenty of other players have done the same and never received a punishment. The punishment system isn't based off of how many lines you've typed, it reviews the game if someone reports you and flags any negative behavior.

Negative behavior such as:

Asking for reports, saying your team is trolling, and calling things "re--rded" is unacceptable.

Usually this game would warrant a 10-game chat restriction, but because you went through the three previous punishment tiers without changing your behavior, it was escalated to a permanent ban.
