I just got banned for calling a Ryze retarded

So i opened League today ready for another day of slow IP earning and i get a perma ban due to an instant feedback report, i look at the chat and the only negative things i can find from my side aimed at other players are the words 'Retarded' and 'Dumb' towards a Ryze top lane who with all due respect was an idiot that flamed me back, i didn't even swear at anyone, and other players in the match who where flaming didn't get banned either. I wasn't feeding intentionally either, does anyone have an explanation because all the support told me was that these words where 'highly offensive'.

The term retarded is horrible tbh. It's like using someone's skin color to insult them. It's making fun of people's disabilities and it's honestly a lot worse than many people realize.

I use it jokingly, although much less now. But for many of us growing up, it was a casual term thrown around (at least in my region of the US).

Not saying it makes it right, just saying anything can be taken too far. That said user should have been careful not to insult someone, but a permaban if this is first offence is very harsh.

Eh, idk. Riot goes for perma bans right away for racist slurs and some could take that word to be on the same level.

It was my third offence i had a week chat ban before which in all fairness i deserved but what annoys me is that other players in the game where full out flaming while i was using small words as retaliation ( yes i should have muted ) and they where not banned (most likely)

lol... hate speech... and getting aced by a Twitch R is "rape". It often feels that people use phrases like that so carelessly because they want drama to make their lives more interesting or to feel like they have a mission (get the evil wrongdoers!).

The group think is real... In general, people on here will try to find ANYTHING possibly wrong with your behavior and chalk it up to "deserved." (even though they barely know anything about what you mean and what the chat is about) They may often be right but the idea that you weren't an ideal player is a different standard from that of meriting a ban. The problem isn't so much that people are wrong in this thread, it's that it almost always comes from a super biased point of view. You should definitely post logs though.

As a proud member of your so called, "Group Think", I would like to point out that you pointed out, that we are often right, in fact, most of the time we are right.

It's a fairly simple process.

Did the person tilt?

Did they use hate speech?

Did they troll?

If any of these are yes, it is very likely they deserved a ban.

this is what i do...i get players tilted so I and the others can report the person(s) since their like to insult me in the lobby and in-game.if that would make your day feel exhilarating.
